UPS delivered my LARGE HSN with 2 HUGE holes in box

What is the policy? I never had this happen. I can see the item being scratched through both holds - size of large man's fist. There is a dent. Then the rest of the box looks bent.

Should I open it?
What can they do?

HSN so over $75 and free shipping.

My UPS account said it was not delivered yet..Neighbor said it has been here for hours.

Totally UPS person saw this.

Upsetting that such a nice product - a value, but pricey - was ruined and just left without a word.

Take a photo of the box showing the damage. Contact HSN customer service. They can advise how to proceed. Good luck. Sorry that happened.

open it......nothing to lose.

if there is an issue you can return it to HSN for a full refund using their return label.

if it is fine, then it is your decision whether or not to keep it.....or ask for a partial refund if there is slight damage.

@ConsumReporter What is a large HSN? Why wouldn't you open it? It's not evidence in a murder case.

@ConsumReporter I had something similar happen with my very first purchase at HSN. They provided free return shipping - UPS came and picked it up. Contact customer service.

the holes are large enough that anything could be in it OR pieces could fall out and injure myself or one of my family...

dreaded the thought of repackaging since the box is so damaged.... would be an entire roll of duct tape.

@ConsumReporter UPS does not delicately handle packages. I have received several damaged and/or partially opened boxes from UPS. Rarely does that ever happen with USPS. Just last week I had a notification from UPS that my delivery from Corporate Goods was being delivered. I had no idea who that was but a bit of research revealed that when packages are damaged by UPS, they repackage them and it's called Cororate Goods.

@ConsumReporter, if you KNOW the contents are damaged without opening the package, don't. Just call HSN and tell them about it. That way you won't have to try to wrap it back up.

I've received packages that look damaged and I will be praying it's ok but if I can't tell, I take pictures of the box and then open it. Then you proceed from there. But if you just know it's damaged goods, don't bother opening it in order to save yourself the work of trying to piece it all back together. They will make it right.

It's one thing if a box was damaged and inside it were 6 fluffy towels. It's another if the box contained a crystal chandelier.
