Security breach?

I ALWAYS sign out when closing the Forums and Q websites. I opened forums today and was showing still logged in. I know for a fact that I signed out yesterday. This is a huge violation of security if you ask me.

@CalminHeart that heppened yesterday to a lot of people here, along with a multitude of log in and website issues:

not logged out
not able to log in until browsers were switched
logged in under different user nics
etc.
etc.
etc.

The Mods couldn't even log in successfully yesterday for a while.

They are having major issues, but it's strange because it doesn't appear to be just one thing going on.

Good morning @CalminHeart thank you for your post today. No there has not been any security issue, I can understand your concern, the same sign in situation has been experienced by other posters and myself. We had system updates and it has affected the forums. But we have not had any security compromise.

I LOVE that I'm still signed in. I was signing in 5, 6 times a day. If I got off for a bite of lunch, bam! They signed me out.

How can there be a security breach on the forums?? Who cares if you read a certain book or saw a certain movie? They can't get your credit card info on the forums page!!! There is a totally different password for your account.

I agree with @Judaline ! I hope they don't fix the sign in to the forums! I get so tired of being gone for just 5 minutes and having to log in again. If staying signed in on the forums is a bug, please don't fix it! lol

I have not been automatically signed in, but I would recommend (if you do not already) clearing website info (cookies) each day. This may of course not pertain to your issue - these things can sometimes seem mysterious!

Aside from the current redundant issues with sign-in attempts, clearing the cache results in kicking my password out (I am therefore logged out). So the sign-in begins again! It has been a bit problematic of late.

I was not signed in this morning either. But I clear my history at the end of every day. I had no trouble signing in earlier.

And my forum sign in information is the same as my account sign in information. (Not different passwords.)

I was not signed in either. I have my computer set up so my history is cleared as well.

Yesterday, when signing in I was given a prompt to change my nickname. The choices were change or cancel. I hit cancel and proceed to sign in.

First it started with me being unable to sign in, like everyone else. NOW, I sign out, with it showing that I have, only to return hours later, or the next day (like today), to see I'm signed back in.

When I sign out, I want to be signed out. It makes me uncomfortable, otherwise.

There are still serious issues that need to be addressed here by the Q's tech wizards. I'm beginning to question the security of this site.

And, it has to make one wonder, if a site has been hacked, as opposed to just glitches, since that's our new world. The users are usually the last to know.

What I mean is, the information has to be the same. How do you sign in to your QVC account with different information than here on the forums?

@geezerette The forums don't have my payment info. Just my profile, etc. They told me going in (years ago!) I couldn't use the same password on the forum as the account stats!

I walked away from my computer and thought, Wait! Did this change over the years? I honestlly can't remember!! I have to leave but when I get home I will check my acct and my forum acct. I owe everyone an apology if I'm wrong, but I've been coming here for years and my memory isn't that great nowadays.

@Judaline - My password is the same to sign into my account and the forums. I've never had separate passwords so, if you find out how to change this without messing up the info for my account, I'd like to know.

I signed out 4 1/2 hours ago, just came back to the forums to find I'm signed in again. It's getting aggravating, to say the least.

I've been permanently signed in for the past couple of days at least. At first I thought perhaps I'd forgotten to sign out, but now I know it's not that.

In fact, I just signed out, deleted my browsing history and cookies and I'm still signed in.

As long as it's only the forums (and not my account) and I know the IT department are aware and working on it, I can live with it.

I just checked. My two passwords are different. You can go to your account if you want and "edit" password. I don't see any credit info on my account. I'm sure the last four numbers of my credit card are there somewhere but I didn't delve into it. It's only when you buy something and you check out that your cc with the last 4 numbers appear. I like two different passwords. Mine's been the same for a very long time so they may have laxed on the 'different' passwords and you can leave things status quo if you want.
