Q return label fee?

I never noticed this before, but apparently there is another fee (in addition to S&H) if I return these boots I received today. So this is for insurance? WT_! Let me get this straight -- If I return these boots for the exact same pair only 1/2 size smaller, I will have to pay $5.50 + $6.95 ($12.45) for the privilege of QVC's "generous" return policy. And then what -- another $5.50 S&H? (Geez, I do love Amazon).

Someone please enlighten me -- how did I not ever see or experience this before?

Note: I bought the exact same pair of boots earlier this year from HSN, and the size was perfect (Skechers).

So frustrating because I love the boots and really like the new color (navy), and of course not sure a half size smaller will fit (probably be too small).

Pardon my venting here. Any responses greatly appreciated.

@janesilver If you are sending back your item and getting a replacement, there is no charge for using the prepaid return label and no charge for shipping the item back to you. i hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply (no name, so I guess it was a QVC representative). What if I just send the boots back without exchanging? I feel that the size 8 is slightly large, but am pretty sure the 7 1/2 will be too small. What kind of fee are we talking in that case?

Again, sooooooo frustrated that I have the exact same boots in a different color, and they fit perfectly. Darn!

@janesilver .... My experience with shoes (all brands) from QVC is that you can never be sure about how your size will fit .... unfortunately the fit of the shoes are all over the place 😪

@janesilver When you return something you are refunded the cost of the item only. You are not refunded the original shipping. You do pay for return shipping. The label charge is the return shipping.
