CS is not able to change the return policy. Yes, returns do become costly. For that reason, I've altered my shopping behavior by only ordering things I'm 95% sure I will keep. I no longer order clothing and shoes because doing is such an issue. I rarely order rings anymore for the same reason.

Everyone was moaning about the high S&H policy a few years back. This was the Q's solution. It appeared to be good for the consumer initially, but of course it wasn't.

I couldn't agree more! It's the most obsured policy I've seen lately. I learned my lesson last Christmas. Now if I see something I like on QVC, I know I can usually find that same item elsewhere.

I totally agree. I have bought TONS of stuff on QVC over the years with great success. Lately clothes and shoes just don't fit the way they should. I have spent plenty on returns, so I've hit the brakes. I still order, and enjoy watching, but I'm much more careful, and have gone back to shopping locally. $10-$12 to try something is more than a little ridiculous.

I so agree. I ordered a Susan Graver top that had really great reviews. Well, when I got it and tried it on the back was soooooo long. It really looked ridiculous on me. It cost me $10 to try that shirt on. Not ordering clothing anymore, unless I'm sure it will work (ie I've bought it before and am replacing)

Agreed. We tried the Scott Bros. Comforter set. Cost over $20 to ship and $10.95 to return-so over 30 with nothing to show for that money. Forget shoes, clothes as you cannot count on their sizing. We purchase household items which we know are okay. Otherwise we are now going local or Amazon or department stores.

The Luminara TSV yesterday was a great deal.

Where the Q gets all of us is the easy pay. It makes it more "affordable" and sucks us in. Those easy pays can really add quite a chunk to your bank charges and can come back to hurt you in months down the line.

The Q is good for some things and items for all categories of customers.

I made my last return just over a year ago. In my mind it cost me an extra $3 to return. That was the original shipping cost I would have had returned under the old policy. Yes, if the return had been something QVC did wrong, I would have called CS and complained about the cost of the return, but the fault was mine and I paid for the return just as I would have under the old policy.

I'm sure if I bought lots of clothes and shoes and maybe even homegoods, I'd have more returns. As it stands the current shipping policy means I've saved lots of dollars compared to what Iwould have spent under the old shipping charges. Everything WEN, Philosophy, and Perricone I've purchased has shipped for much less than it used to -- and costs less than at any QVC competitors. Since those items account for about 75% of my purchases, that's important to me.

It's even worse if you buy an item on easy pay then return it. They deduct the entire original shipping cost which was originally divided by the number of easy pays. Then deduct the $6.95 for return shipping. I recently bought a Susan Graver top/tunic that was huge and way too long. Cost was around $40 but I bought it on 3 easy pays. My refund was $4 and change. (Paid $10 for shipping and return shipping.)

So, based on some of the comments, it appears that some people feel that the rest of us should underwrite their impulse shopping and lack of good judgment.

Look, shipping costs money. It is never free, and as we all know (I hope), retailers which offer "free" shipping simply add the shipping costs into the base prices of items and/or require minimum purchases (causing consumers to spend more money) to take advantage of the "free" shipping.

I am sorry, but I do not buy into any of these complaints. When some of you say "free" what it really means is thaet you want me to spend more money because you cannot make up your mind.

($10.95)

You can combine multiple orders (of clothing, as an example) in a single box and you will only be charged for using the Q label based on the weight of the package.

As long as all the items being returned are being sent to the same address (based on category), you will only be charged one Q label, regardless of how many items or separate orders are in the package.

Also, when you do an exchange for a different size/color, you are NOT charged shipping again. You also are NOT charged shipping if the return is due to damage/defect.

Hope this helps.

@ErikaShops365

If you exchange an item you ARE charged shipping on the new item, this is why I no longer do exchanges, its quicker to order the new size/color and return the old. I don't mind paying again and waiting for my refund, this is quicker than waiting for Q to get the return, process the exchange and send a new item out, especially since you pay shipping again.

I have exchanged many items recently due to wrong size and I wasn't charged a second shipping cost for any of the returned items. In fact, I made it a point to chat with customer service...separately...for each item just to be certain. I watched my billing statements and the ONLY "additional shipping" fee I was charged was for the Q label.

You may want to chat with customer service to find out why you were charged shipping on your exchanges.

In my opinion, not that anyone wants it, but I think some people have probably abused returns over the years. I have been shopping for over 23 years and I have returned very few items. Maybe 4? If an item is broke or don't work the Q has always paid for the return. I have a sister that over spends and is always returning stuff. It is people like her that have caused this to happen in my opinion.

I posted a thread a few months back.....

I titled it LOVE IT OR RETURN IT...... FOR 9.95....

Most items I return are clothing.
So to have it shipped is 3.00.
Use the return label, it is 6.95.....thus the QVC MOTTO should be LOVE IT OR RETURN IT FOR 9.95!
Clothing brands are inconsistent in sizing.....shoes as well in the WIDE WIDTHS.....so I struggle in sizing at times.

However, I will say.....my QVC shopping and ordering has slowed way down due to them charging 9.95 for shipping to me and returning to them.

Sad but true.
