Problem with @ Notification

@Recently I've noticed that sometimes when I use the @ notification on a poster's nic, once I hit return to post my message, the nic changes from what I typed in.

I had thought maybe this was a glitch and the nic it changed to was a former nic of that poster, but a recent discussion with a poster whose nic was changed, proved that not to be true.

Any ideas? Discussion below:

I have no idea, but this has happened to me quite a few times! I typed in @Pearlee, just like I did this time, but for some reason when I hit return after typing it, it changes it to a different name? Crazy!

I'm going to post this question in the Customer Care forum. This time, it tried to change the name to 'Pearleys*e*x, so I had to retype it, so let's see what it actually posts, LOL!

@KingstonsMom They might want to know what kind of equipment (device) you are using to post - and whether you use more than one kind that it's happening on - because that may have something to do with it.

UPDATE:

Still happening.....I just tried to respond to @Venezia and it changed it to '@BellaVenezia'.

After trying to change it back several times in my post to just '@Venezia', it still posted it with '@BellaVenezia'.

I had to edit the post to finally get it to say what I typed, just '@Venezia'.

The same thing happened this AM with another poster.

@KingstonsMom, are you typing in the "@" sign and the name and then choosing it from the popup menu?

When I do that, it seems to be working with no problems.

I think the problem arises when we type the "@" plus the name and just hit return. When we do that, the software is going over to the user file and picking up the wrong name.

Hello @KingstonsMom@ - I wanted to jump in here and try to help. When you type the @ sign and then start to type the correct name, is a dropdown appearing with that posters nickname in it? It should and then you click on it. Do not hit return. Please give this a try and let me know what happens.

@KingstonsMom - Have you cleared your cookies & cache lately? I would give that a try.

Yes, my laptop is set up to clear cookies/cache every time I exit my laptop.

I also wanted to add that if you click on these other nics that the nic you typed gets changed to, it just shows an avatar with this wrong nic, nothig else.

Didn't know if that may help figure this out. Manually cleared my cookies/cache, no change.

Oh, no @sunshine45@ LOL! I'm going to offer to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge in a moment. Someone asked on another thread whether anyone here on the board had won the $30,000 (before the winner was announced). My post in response to that - facetious of course - was what was quoted that prompted @KingstonsMom to start investigating what was wrong with her notifications. LOL!

@sunshine45 Oh I went back and looked at the post - I think the thread was someone asking if anyone here won that single Powerball lottery about a week ago, not the $30,000. Actually they were both threads here but I think I was answering about the Powerball millions and going through the LOGO inventory buying everything LOL!

Yesterday afternoon Eva and I were able to recreate the experience you are having when we tried the @ mention function in IE11. We normally use Chrome and do not have the same experience. Eva has elevated this incompatibility to our technical team to hopefully get this resolved soon.

Are you able to test in a different browser the @ mention feature?
