Harry Potter Mania Continues...!!

I was at my local Barnes & Noble last night and how fun it was to see the release of the new Harry Potter book; Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is still generating a lot of hoopla as the below photo shows! There was a massive amount of people waiting for the 12:01am release of this new book! I got a kick out of this!

the old Family channel now Freeform has been running the movies all weekend. as a fan myself i always watch some or all - and add to my Potter Wiki knowledge of obscure details each time.

My daughter read them as a kid. Now she's collecting the illustrated editions as they come out. We own all the movies. We were talking about the Cursed Child coming out recently.

@jaxs momIt was telling to me that the average of the fans in the pic was around 50! My son is an avid fan of the series & is now 20. Whatever it takes to get/keep people reading is a win for all.

Yeah, when my daughter was reading them, I had a lot of friends that were huge Potter fans. I love the story, but I couldn't get into her writing style to read the books. I do enjoy the movies a lot though. It's probably better for me in the long run. There are very few movies that I like, when I've loved the books.

I resisted Harry at first, but finally read the first five books back-to-back. I was stunned at how excellent the writing was, and was impressed by the intricacy of the plot lines. I admired how Rowling developed the characters as the books continued.

I stopped being such a snob and gave in to loving Harry! I'm happy there's a new book out.

@insomniac2, this one is a screen play version. I have talked to several people who loved it & I have a friend who works in a bookstore & have a few returns due to this. I am sure the true HP fans will love this new book & version.

to me the people in the picture who were dressed up looked like store employees who had to to whether they wanted to or not.

@lovescats, no those were actual customers, I asked for their permission to take their picture. I couldn't believe how many people showed up to buy the book at 12:01am! That is waaaay past my bedtime, lol.

Fun! My local bookstore also had a big celebration. I didn't go for this one, but I've been in the past. They did live entertainment, face painting, costume contests, and then released the book at midnight.

And on the night before the release, I noticed that Amazon Prime Now was advertising that if you bought the book between 9:45 and 11:30pm, they would deliver it your door between midnight and 2am.

My family are all Harry Potter maniacs! We also went to our local bookstore (my teens went in costume) for the release party as we have done for the last three books. It was an absolute mob scene! Loved seeing soo many people in costume - people really got into it. There was even a Moaning Myrtle with a toilet seat hat! My family is currently waiting to get a new puppy and are excitedly trying to decide on a girl name from Harry Potter World. Our last dog (who passed away in May) was Lucky Sirius Black. I have a furry nephew named Albus also. Can you tell we are obsessed LOL?
