Rosamund Pilcher any book. And for lots of laughs, Jilly Cooper (if you are interested in the "horsey" set ).she has a série of books involving the same characters.

Patrick Tailor Irish Country Doctor is delightful. The audio version is especially good with the Irish narrator. I agree Pilcher is probably my number one.

I have enjoyed several light books by Marian Keyes. The book Love Rosie (by Celia Athern) was good, and the movie on Netflix with Lily Collins in one of my favorites.

I love Peter Robinison. He writes the Inspector Banks series which is set in the UK. Highly recommend!

If you like time travel, Bethany Claire has a series as well as Katy Baker, all set in Scotland.
