SHAPE SHIFTER FICTION

I get tons of books on my Kindle Paperwhte and also get an email daily from ereaderiq.oom for free and inexpensive books.

About a year ago I tried a freebie that was about a man who shape shifted from human to wolf. It was a fun read and since then I've read a few more.

I'm surprised at how much I enjoy these as paranormal is not an interest of mine.

But those I've read are pretty good, entertaining and none of the good people or shifters come to a bad end.

Anyone else?

@Love my grandkids. You ought to read some of the Navajo lore about these spirits or whatever they are. I've read some accounts of encounters that scared me to death. They call them "skin walkers".

There are three series in this genre that I have really enjoyed:

Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter

Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs

Alpha and Omega series, also by Patricia Briggs

You may be able to get these on your Kindle but I'm sure that they wouldn't be free of charge.

@Kachina624 Oh that sounds interesting, I'll definitely check that out, I love that kind of stuff.

@Love my grandkids. Highly recommend Talking to the Ground by Douglas Preston which describes his horseback journey across the Navajo Nation including the scariest encounter with the skin walkers. This is non-fiction.

@Love my grandkids There is a detective fiction series by Tony Hilllerman (deceased) who has a series featuring a Navajo tribal police officer. It is entitled Skinwalkers.

I enjoyed the entire series which had great dialogue and description of the area and culture of the characters.

I tried to read one of these books earlier this year, and I could not get into it. The man would change into a wolf, and before I put it down, both him and his love interest who's mother was some sort of high council member, and did not show emotions, had went over to a friend of his to visit. The other couple had kids who were cubs, and scratching up the furniture, I just couldn't. LOL!!
