Happy JUNE 2020 to all our readers. Because of the coronavirus, if you are socially distancing and staying home as is advised, you've got plenty of time to read and explore new books you've been meaning to read.

Please share what you're currently reading, what you liked and what you didn't, and share them with us so we can enjoy them too.

i know what's about but I am certain that this book will open the minds for those who discriminate and will open the hearts for the others.

Libraries closed so looked through my old books and decided to re-read John Twelve Hawks' "Traveler" trilogy. it's been a while since I read them but, boy, he is/was a great story-teller.

Now reading book #17 in Brad Thor's series. I have #18 "Backlash" so that will be next.

I am reading Shadow Divers. The author is Robert Kurson. It's a true story of two American deep water divers that discover a sunken German U Boat (submarine) off the New Jersey coast. It is riveting and so well written. You don't have to know anything about diving to enjoy this story!

I just finished TEAM OF FIVE - THE PRESIDENTS CLUB IN THE AGE OF TRUMP by Kate Anderson Brower. I love her books. I'll start Hello Summer by Mary Kay Andrews today - love her books too - great "beach read" every summer.

@Judaline Not necessarily - the first one I read was not his first book. After reading it tho, I did go find the first book and went on from there.

I am reading "The Banty House" by Carolyn Brown. It is a breath of fresh air and I am going to be disappointed when I finish. It's one of those books you just hate to end. It is about 3 elderly, never married, sisters who live together in their grandparents old farm house in a tiny little town in Texas and take in a very young pregnant woman to stay with them. It is funny and just takes me back to a slower and more simple way of life.

Barbara Delinsky. Felt like some light-hearted reading. Just finished 'the woman next door.' Now reading a Delinsky novel -- oops, forgot the title, about an attorney being falsey accused of misconduct. Now, you know this intelligent, well-dressed, handsome man is innocent. He's going away to an island in Maine to think about things. I wonder who he will meet.... That's as far as I am in the book right now.

Have a William Kent Krueger book waiting for me after hubs is finished.

Just finished More Than by Diane Barnes. A quick fun read about an obese woman who's kids get her a gift certificate to a boot camp. More to it than this but it was a good book.

Onto Elin Hilderbrand's What Happens In Paradise (the 2nd book of the series). I don't mind reading series out of order because most of the time I can follow them w/out reading the 1st one.

Last night I finished the Fredrick Backman title MY GRANDMOTHER ASKED ME TO TELL YOU SHE'S SORRY. Honestly, I did not really like it. It had a storyline with a little girl dealing with serious life issues, but the way the author did it was to couch the story in lots of fantasy: made up places, magical creatures, then switching back to real life...just not my style or preference. I know others have read it and loved it. I couldn't wait for it to end. I did finish it though. It's good there are so many styles and storylines out there: something for everyone! This just was not for me.

Our Library system is still shut down, and I was not in the mood to read for a few months. A few weeks back I was able to get back into reading, but only books that I had already read.

I reread Courtesy of my Kindle:

Year One & Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts

Naked in death, Glory in death, Immortal in death. & Rapture in death by Nora Roberts.

Last night I finally had the desire to read something new so I purchased and started reading. Storm Front (Virgil Flowers series) by John Sanford.

Hoping my Library system opens soon. The books listed are all books that I have purchased on my Kindle, and the dollars do start to add up, especially when for the most part I am use to reading my books for free.

Maximillian, I agree with you 100 percent.

I adore Backman's Ove book (it's a great movie, too). I've read a half-dozen of Backman's other books,though, and have really disliked all of them.

To me, he's a one-book author--but that one book is MAGNIFICENT!

I finished A Trick of the Light by Louise Penny. This is book 7 of her Inspector Gamache mystery series. This year, I'm really enjoying this series. The series has been around for years but I'm finally reading my way thru them now. It's a nice vacation from real life to go to a quiet town in Canada (even if there is always a random murder LOL). The characters are interesting. However, this book introduced a quirky love interest for 1 of the police officers that I didn't really enjoy...it sort of dragged when it was showing that officer's point of view but I don't really read romance stories. Overall it was a good mystery that I didn't solve, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Yes, I read OVE too and really enjoyed it. Very different, lots of twists and turns, a good ending. Now, I have a copy of BRITT MARIE WAS HERE. Have you read it? For me, it's one hit and one miss with Backman at this point! Should I read BRITT MARIE? Anyone?

I tried reading "A Man Called Ove" earlier this year and didn't finish it. I couldn't get into the book at all and gave up after 50 pages. The book was given many 5 star ratings on Goodreads, but it wasn't for me. I haven't read anything else by Backman.

I will let you know about Storm front, but just to be clear this is not the latest book. It's new to me since I have not read it but this is book number 7 out of the series of which 12 have been written.

I love the Virgil Flowers series as well. I had stopped for awhile, since I am still reading The Prey Series (Lucas Davenport). I was getting too far ahead with Virgil discussing things that I had not read about yet with Lucas.
