Rick Bragg is one of my favorite authors and I'm reading his latest, " The Best Cook in the World: Tales from my Momma's Table." He is the best storyteller, and this book is about his mom, her recipes and their Southern heritage. Even if you're not familiar with his books, you may recognize him from the back page of " Southern Living magazine every month.

Love Rick Bragg! I got to meet & hang out with him during a book signing a few years ago when his ALL OVER BUT THE SHOUTIN’ book was released. No question he was truly devoted to his mom!

Someone in our Book Club just mentioned Rick Bragg had written a cookbook and that he was going to be at the Carter Center in Atlanta. I didn't get to the Carter Center, but I ordered the cookbook. It just came this morning so I've only had time to browse a little of it. I always enjoy listening to stories of growing up in the South -- especially when there's old-time Southern cooking involved!

You might also enjoy Robert St. John's "My South" -- sadly he doesn't include any recipes. I was introduced to his writing when someone read to us from his book while we were traveling on a "Mystery Trip" (they tell you how long you'll be gone, but not where you're going).
