What is your favorite historical romance novel?

I've been reading an awful lot of WWII historical novels and would like to switch it up some to purely romance but still keep it historical. I haven't posted here recently but do read your recommendations and value your opinion's. Thank U😍

Check out books by Lisa Kleypas. " Dreaming of You " is a good story.

Centennial is the book I read when I was 18-ish which is the book that got me started reading. I loved it and then I read many of James Micheners books. Those are the kind of books I'm looking for. thank you

Mary Balogh is a fabulous historical fiction writer. So is Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series. I also love Grace Burrowes historical series. Check these out on goodreads.com they all are highly rated. Your library will have all of them that you can check out or download.

Shanna by Katherine Woodiwiss. I read it when I was in my 20's and I still recommend it 30 years later.

One of the best historical novels I've read - many years ago - was Herman Wouk's "Winds of War" and its sequels. If you haven't read them give them a try. I don't remember if there was a lot of "romance" though.

My two all time favorites as well. I read each of them again about once a year and never fail to enjoy them.

Anna Karenina, if you like Tolstoy and Russian history. "All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way."

Another favorite, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. French revolution. I recommend the unabridged version because it includes all of the historical context. Great story, so much better than the musical, and it will keep you busy for a very long time.

I remember getting on the bus in Chicago in the 70's to go to work and everyone was reading "The Flame and the Flower" by Kathleen Woodiwiss. It was a huge bestseller!

I absolutely loved "Forever Amber" by Kathleen Windsor. Turned me into a history major with an interest in Charles II and his times.

Travone-Paint the Wind by Spellman is great also! ANYTHING by Celeste de Blasis is wonderful too! Cannot live without books!
