Amazon Prime for entertainment - what do you like about it?

Amazon Prime is running a special this weekend for new customers. 73 dollars, as opposed to the usual 99. I'm not a huge Amazon person, but I've been curious about Prime, so I jumped off the ledge! I bought my first Kindle a few months ago (the Kindle Paperwhite), so I thought it might be nice to become more acquainted with all things Amazon.

I looked through the video section and found a few movies that I'd like to watch and added them to my watchlist. I looked through the music section, but didn't spend too much time there. I did look to see if I could stream Adele's new album, but I couldn't.

For those who have Amazon Prime, what do you like about it? What am I missing? Oh, I tried to look into the Kindle library loan, but just briefly. For those who use that feature, are the books available newer or not so much?

I'm considering Prime as well. I keep checking to see if anyone responds to your post.

I did a free trial once & didn't think it was that great. It was a while ago & I don't think they had music then. How does the music work? Can you download songs & play them when you choose? Or do they shuffle your choices like Spotify does if you don't have their premium account? And how is the selection?

If I ordered a lot from Amazon it would be worth it for the free shipping but a lot of orders over $35 ship free anyhow. I have Netflix, which I seldom watch, & get most of my Kindle books free from the library. So I think the music would be the deciding factor for me.

Hope you get some helpful responses.

I don't know why I didn't realize that you got the movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime. I've always thought the only thing I'd use it for would be the free shipping. I think it would be worth it for the movies and TV shows. I think I'll sign up. Thank you for mentioning this.

I have prime too. I get every cable channel now anyway. But I'm like some of you I like to use it for the free shipping.

Life's too short. If you can afford it, you want it get it. As simple as that. That's how I see it.

There's very little on broadcast television that interests me right now and I refuse to pay for premium cable channels, so I watch old television shows and movies that are available through Amazon Prime. I enjoy the ease of streaming to my iPad Pro or watching on my television through my Apple TV.

The free shipping isn't really free as most of the products are $1 - $2 more as a Prime selection than they would be otherwise, but it's still nice to order something and receive it in two days.

Amazon Prime Music has a pretty nice selection and you can adjust it to include/exclude specific songs, artists and genres. There are no commercials and no identification breaks, so it's almost like listening to your own playlist.

Just finished watching, PLACE OF EXECUTION. OMG on Prime from ONE, SO STARTING AND GOOD. Starts a little slow, but the outcome will shock you. It,s a two hour movie worth seeing.

I got prime for 65 or 69 dollars in Sept. On a one day deal. I will not pay 99 which turns out to be 104.00 with txt. Not enough movies on Prime now. You can Net flex and see same and unlimited movies for same price, 8.99 a month

I've been watching the first season of The Good Wife through Amazon on my ipad. The show was so good that first season. I've enjoyed watching it again.

How does that work?

How long can you keep them?

What file format?

I hate buffering of any kind

I don't think you can download to PC it says to a compatible device fire android or iOS. And I don't think it's everything.

I have watched TV series on Prime that I didn't watch on cable TV, mainly because I wasn't interested at the time or there was a conflict with something else.

I watched all of the Grimm episodes (four seasons worth) in about two weeks. Loved it. I've started watching Suits and am also watching the old X-Files. If you like the Michael Connelly books featuring Harry Bosch, there is a Prime series called Bosch. I didn't watch NYPD Blue when it was on TV, but I am watching it now. One of things I ike about the Prime shows is that you can catch the first episode of a series. I like to watch shows in order when possible.
