Bob Mackie Documentary on TCM

I love Bob Mackie and have many of his wonderful pieces I purchased on QVC over the years. Also enjoyed attending an Audience show where he signed autographs,had pictures taken with him, and received a Bob Mackie designer scarf!

TCM announced they will be having a "Bob Mackie:Costume Party" a 2 hour documentary about him @ 8:00 PM (EST) on Sat 2/7/26.Can't Wait!

When i run across an old Bob Mackie top, I can't help but examine it, finger and feel the amazing fabric, admire the design and workmanship. They are a far cry from the quality of merchandise we get nowdays.

I treasure the ones I own.

I saw it on Amazon when it first came out. Naked Illusion is the name of the documentary. Thoroughly enjoyable. The segment with his former wife was sad because even after all these years they are heartbroken over the loss of their son, Robin, even though no longer married they are extremely close. Their delight in their granddaughters is lovely.

For the most part, he never ages but the portrait in the attic! His designs are wonderful! The segment on Mitzi Gaynor was great and the designs were a knockout

For a quiet, soft spoken, understaffed gentleman, he can certainly create show stopping, dazzling, firecracker, explosive, gorgeous creations!

It was a joy to watch!

My favorite things I bought of his on the Q were his pants and trousers. They were so comfortable and fit me to a T, especially the dressier ones. I really miss him and his fashions.

I miss him too. I brought and kept many of his designs. So colorful and well made. Such a gentleman too.
