New Alien -Romulous movie

Has anyone watched the newest Alien Romulous movie ?

"Space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life-form in the universe while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station. "

I watched it and saw where they were some ties to Prometheus movie & the 1st Alien . The cast were young actors & actresses , so adding a younger generation exposed to Alien. Of course it had alot of Alien interaction with Humans along with plenty of special effects .

I was disappointed , maybe a sequel will be coming if it bodes well at the box office .

Couldn't wait to see it when it first came out. The Alien franchise is one of my favorites. Sadly, I was very disappointed.

What were you disappointed by ? For me , it was oaky that they were tying in the prior Alien movie along with Prometheus since it's be a few yrs between movies .

They did provide the explanation of how the mining planet became inhabited by the Alien who we thought was still floating around space .

I get it that they need to have alot of action, but I was not thrilled with the main character Rain ( Cailee Spaeny ) or Andy ( David Jonsson ). It's a tough act to follow , with casts from prior movies such as Sigourney Weaver , Noomi Rapace , Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron . I would have rather seen Alicia Vikander in the role as Rain, but this plot was centered around some 20 yr olds actors.

What would be amazing would be merging the old movie " Pitch Black " with Vin Dizel which took place on a planet circled by 3 suns where all the miners disappeared. The character Rain mentions several times in the Alien Romulous movie she wants to go to a planet to see the sun.

@skatting44 Oooh, that would be a great tie-in. I just didn't find the backstory engaging enough to make up for the lack of suspense. I thought it was a bit predictable. To be honest, I haven't loved any of the movies that didn't fearure Sigourney Weaver.
