Marlow Murders Club on PBS

Anybody watching? First episode was excellent. I read the book and now discovered there’s a couple more in the series. I ordered the second one. Mrs. Potts played on Downton Abbey. She was Lord Grantham’s sister.

Watched it last night and enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to more shows.

It was quite enjoyable, wonderfully cast, like what PBS used to offer.

The scenery alone made it worth watching.

And, really enjoying Masterpiece Sunday nights. I have the last show of Moonflower Murders to watch, boy it has lots of things going on which I don't want to miss any of.

I saved it to watch later and am hoping it will be an antidote to the relatively hackneyed network fare. I watched the other current in my area Masterpiece offering, Wolf Hall. It was beautifully done but so far, sort of slow moving. Anticipating it will gain momentum.

Yes and I loved it!

To be honest, I was on the fence about watching and am so happy I did. Great story, excellent acting, dogs this had something for everyone.

Thank you for pointing out Samantha Bond was on Downtown Abbey. She is fantastic here.

Can't wait until next week.

Thoroughly enjoyed Episode 1 and thanks for mentioning the person she played in Downton Abbey.

No one does mysteries as well as the British with their beautiful landscapes and small towns/villages.

Are the episodes self-contained? That is, was last night’s mystery resolved or you have to tune in next week?

Samantha Bond made her debut in 1983 as Maria in the TV mini-series Mansfield Park. Notable roles include portraying Lady Rosamund Painswick on the TV series Downton Abbey and playing Miss Moneypenny in James Bond films like GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Yes, watching Marlow Murder Club and trying to pace myself. Watched two episodes last night and two more to go before the culprit is revealed.

So nice to watch a British cozy mystery and put the British crime dramas aside for a bit. The cast, scenery, and village are lovely.

I must be the only person who finds this show to be boring! The main character's acting is quite stiff and leaves a lot to be desired. Just my opinion. I enjoyed her in Downton Abbey and Home Fires, but I didn't make it all the way through the second episode of MMC before I had YTTV stop recording it.

Actually, after now having watched several episodes, I don't think it's 'all that' either. I do, though, think it's a step up from most of what's on TV these days, so I'll finish the series. Personally, I think the casting and pacing could use some work.
