I will watch this. It's based on a true story about a non-jewish woman who falls in love with and marries a rabbi. The real life woman is Erin Foster, daughter of the record producer David Foster. Katherine McPhee is Erin's step-mother!

I watched all ten episodes today and really liked it. I do find it hard to believe a Rabbi would date a "Shiksa", a Yiddish term for a gentile woman or girl.

I enjoyed this series.

The ending was such that a season 2 would be possible. I hope that happens.

Do check it out. There are 10 episodes but each one is only 20-25 minutes.

My girlfriend just mentioned this to me yesterday - decided to check it out last night - I watched five episodes. It's so cute. I love it. The cast and characters are great.

I watched this the other day all in one day. I liked it, it was very cute and I definitely see a season 2. Cute comedy.

Any one know whether there will be more? I just gave it a try the other day when I was searching for anything to watch as an alternative to the news. It took me awhile to get into it, but it grew on me. Now I would like to see more.

I am old enough to remember a similar show when I was a teenager - Bridget loves Bernie .

Cameras are officially rolling on Season 2 of Nobody Wants This.

Netflix has confirmed a second season of "Nobody Wants This" and filming has already started, with a potential release date in late 2025 or early 2026.

I remember Bridget Loves Bernie too! We actually have a similar situation in our family. My Catholic niece became engaged to a Jewish man whose grandfather was a rabbi. Grandpa forbid the marriage unless she converted to Judaism, which she did. They've been married for about 18-20 years and have seven kids. It worked for them. Oh, and grandpa the rabbi passed away before they ever tied the knot.

It is loosely based on Erin Foster's marriage. She converted, and is not married to a rabbi. As for the poster who commented about a rabbi dating a "shiksa" - you are right. I can't see how that could work - even a Reform rabbi is deeply connected to Judaism and sustaining the relgion for future generations. Marrying outside the religion would not send the right message coming from a Rabbi.

Tovah Feldshuh's character was ridiculous! Such a stereotype of an overbearing mother - regardless of the Jewish part. It is very trite.

The couple itself is cute and well matched. It is so unrealistic though - I had a hard time enjoying it. My favortie character was the sister. She cracked me up!

@JillyMarie I have not had contact with many of the Jewish faith, but have observed many other religions and races and have seen some over protective mother-in-laws of their sons that took some convincing to show love to the dil. @hgsuddle The character was rather stereotypical.

@shoesnbags 2 in love can work things out.
