Happy dog days of summer around the MC pool. Before I get into the meat and potatoes of today's show, I want to ask the GH wardrobe dept a question: What in blue blazes (maybe a little pun intended) is BLQ wearing? Is the circus in town? Has she joined same? C'mon wardrobe, there must be something that this young and attractive woman can wear (including footwear) that doesn't make her look frumpy, unattractive, ridulous and like a hot air balloon ready to take flight. Just sayin'..............

Wow I did not anticipate today's ending! I am assuming that Kristina will lose the baby if not her own life. With Sonny's guys taking pictures there will be evidence if Ava is at fault. She did reach out and tried to take Kristina's arm. Kristina only tripped and fell when she tried to pull away from Ava.

As I said the other day, I am liking the new pace of the show. New twists are happening all the time and makes it more interesting to watch. Kudos to the new head writers.

Meat and potatoes time: As we all thought that somewhere down the road there would be an "accident" or whatever with Kristina and the baby. So here it is in that Krissy tripped on Jagger's duffel bag while arguing with Ava (pictures snapping away of course) and she takes a 1 1/2 gainer out the window and into the MC pool.

No need to panic....at GH I predict that it will be determined that due to the injuries (Krissy unconscious), the baby needs to be delivered NOW. The baby will be fine; it's just 2 weeks away from due date. Krissy, however, perhaps a coma (a la Lulu) will be not so much. Operation necessary to now save the life of the mother. Lots of handwringing; Ava in the proverbial hot seat...did she push her, blah, blah.

Remember, TJ is bio-dad, Krissy the bio-mom and Molly is the bio-aunt. My question to the writers: As TJ and Molly bond with the baby while Kristina is "unavailable", how long will they drag out the S/L?

TJ air hugs his own mother? is he going to wave to this baby only?

I miss the parapet at Wyndemere. It's just not the same.

If Ava isn't calling her brother Julian to get her out of town before Sonny buries her in the cornerstone of the Metro Court, this has been the worst exit storyline ever. He'll have evidence that Ava didn't do it, but those photos will never see the light of day.

And where the heck is Alexis? TJ is being a jerk about your own daughters and you don't put the neanderthal in his place? Where was the good writer again?

Between all the tragedies at the MC, you would think the five star rating would have left by now. If we don't get the scene of Olivia on the phone with the insurance adjusters, we've been robbed.

And exactly what is the check out surcharge for replacing a window and a pool cleaning? Inquiring minds who might be going on vacation want to know.

And this would have been a better scene if Kristina had gone flying while the kids were in the pool at Wylie's party. Just sayin... She could have bounced off the inflatables.

GH RECAP THURSDAY, AUGUST 1ST

Lois has drinks with Brook Lynn. She thinks it’s great that Sonny will bankroll a new label for Blaze. Brook Lynn feels this is an opportunity for her to prove herself and for Blaze to make the music she wants. Lois says managing a label differs from managing an artist and asks if she is willing to take on both.

Brook Lynn is excited and has many ideas but asks her mom if she thinks she can’t do it. Lois knows she can do anything. Brook Lynn admits she hasn’t told Blaze the idea yet, but Lois thinks she’ll jump at this deal. Brook Lynn says this won’t just rebuild Blaze’s career, it will take it to the next level. Lois asks about Sonny’s involvement. Brook Lynn says all he’s doing is putting up the money, she gets to make the decisions.

Brook Lynn is grateful to Uncle Sonny, she doesn’t want to disappoint him, but she also thinks Sonny is doing this primarily to support Kristina. Lois says that part is out of her control. Blaze arrives, and Lois leaves so they can talk. Blaze sits down, and Brook Lynn tells her that Sonny is willing to fund an indie label for her to run and produce Blaze’s album. Blaze is stunned but very interested. Blaze assumes this must have come together quickly. Brook Lynn admits she knew about it before the Perez interview but didn’t want to say anything that might distract her. She also reveals that Natalia was the brainchild behind this and does have her back. Also, Natalia is coming to discuss the deal, but if she doesn’t want to stay, she understands.

Suddenly, Natalia appears. Brook Lynn explains that Blaze knew she was coming and that the label was her idea. She gives them a moment to talk.

Brook Lynn talks to Gio and offers him some local session work as she has a new label that can use his talents.

Meanwhile, Natalia tells Blaze how sorry she is for what she said and that she never wanted to cause her pain. She is also sorry Blaze got dropped by her label because of her words, and she regrets what she said and that it cost her daughter her hard-earned success. Natalia is proud of her and believes the world should hear her talent. This new label allows her to take control of her life. She says Sonny will back it, Brook Lynn will run the label, and she’d love to be involved, but that’s her decision.

Blaze says she’s so grateful for everything her mother has done for her career, but she is moving into a new authentic phase, and she can’t see involving her as she can’t accept who she is. Natalia knows she’s hurt that she didn’t accept her lifestyle. Blaze argues it’s not a lifestyle, it is who she is. She says Kristina is amazing, and if her mother can’t accept their love, then she doesn’t know where they go from here.

In Ava’s room, she meets with Trina about the latest shipment coming into the gallery. Suddenly, Cates walks out wearing only a towel. Trina becomes flummoxed, and Ava explains that John is just here using the shower because his place has terrible water. He needs to be nice and clean for his FBI duties.

Trina rushes out, and Cates wishes Ava would have given him some warning that she had guests. She says he could use some discretion when walking around her room. Cates jokes she didn’t complain about his state of undress last night. Ava admits it was fun, but he can’t stay here as it will look bad for her custody hearing.

Cates gets dressed, and he lets Ava know he’s not looking to parade her around town on his arm either, as she is a former member of the Jerome family. His bosses might not like it. Ava tells Cates to take his bags with him on his way out. He says he’ll leave them and grab them tonight so they can see one another again. She smirks.

Trina heads to the pool and tells Joss what she witnessed in Ava’s room. Joss says Ava never does anything without an agenda, so she must think Cates can do something for her.

At the hospital, Jordan meets with TJ and feels something has been bothering him lately. TJ explains the situation with Kristina has gone from bad to worse. TJ fills her in on the Perez show, and Molly pushing Kristina to sign papers terminating her rights. Kristina, of course, refused. He doesn’t know where to go from here. Jordan says he is the baby’s biological father, giving him rights. TJ knows Molly has few rights here, and what if Kristina refuses to sign over this child to them? Jordan thinks it is time to consult a lawyer. TJ doesn’t want his child to start their life in a custody battle, but that is where they are headed.

Jordan knows Molly has no legal or biological ties to the baby, so that has to be hard for her. TJ says Molly was rattled by the interview with Perez, and she wants to trust Kristina, but he doesn’t think they can. TJ can feel them moving in opposite directions over this, and that scares him. Jordan is hopeful the three of them can work things out, but if he has to go to court to fight for his child, she’ll be there fighting with him.

In the halls, Alexis is on the phone with Adrian and tells him Kristina has made her statement, and that is it. If he prints one more story, she will find him and make him sorry.

Alexis runs into TJ, who is now alone. She asks to speak with him and knows the situation they are in is awkward. She knows there is tension between him, Molly, and Kristina. She loves her girls and loves him too, and she hopes they can put their differences aside and get back to where they were when they started this process. TJ wants that too, but he thinks it will only happen if Kristina hands over their baby. Alexis knows the situation is difficult and to just try and keep the peace. TJ asks if this applies to Kristina, too, or if this is just advice for him and Molly. He vents that everyone is walking around eggshells around Kristina, and she went on TV, making it seem this baby is her and Blaze’s. TJ asks what happens if Kristina tries to keep their baby.

Sam and Molly meet at the new café in town for lunch. They discuss the Perez show. Molly feels Kristina all but claimed the baby as her and Blaze’s. Sam tries to play devil’s advocate and asks if she talked to Kristina. Molly did, and Kristina claims she was trying to protect her and TJ’s privacy. She wants to believe Kristina, but she may have forced her hand and pushed her not to keep her promise to hand over the baby. She tells her about demanding Kristina sign over her rights. Sam agrees it was a wrong move. When someone tries to force Kristina, she does the opposite to prove them wrong. Molly admits she got in a big fight she said ugly things, and Kristina also said she and TJ were headed for a breakup, and maybe she could provide a more stable home for this child.

Molly doesn’t know if Kristina believes she and TJ will break up or if she’s using that as an excuse to keep the baby. Molly wants to trust Kristina, but the reason the Perez interview hit her hard is that she is the only one not biologically related to this baby. She says their mom spoke to her and told her she needed to be the one to keep the peace, so she apologized to Kristina. Sam is proud of her for being the bigger person. Molly explains it was a good thing she was there as Ava served Kristina papers to testify in her and Sonny’s custody battle, and it was nice to be able to be there for her and to give her guidance. Molly admits she feels better after talking to Sam, hopeful even. She says it’s been a bumpy ride, and they are in the home stretch. Once that baby is here, they will all see their cute little face, and she has to believe it will all work out.

In his office, Sonny tells Brick over the phone that he wants Ava surveilled around the clock and to take photos. Kristina arrives and tells her dad that Ava has subpoenaed her in his custody battle over Avery. Sonny tells her not to worry, she won’t have to testify as it won’t get that far.

Sonny asks what else is going on with her when suddenly, Scott interrupts them. Scott says Sonny’s attempt to block Ava from seeing Avery has been dismissed by the court. Scott gloats that Ava will spend the weekend with her daughter. He also tells Kristina they will see each other tomorrow morning at ten. Kristina states they have no appointment, so he suggests she read that subpoena more carefully. He says she needs to be deposed before she can testify.

Kristina tells Scott to go to hell and storms out. Scott tells Sonny Ava will win and that he needs to get used to saying goodbye to Avery. Sonny says, “I wouldn’t be too sure.”

Later, Lois arrives as Sonny is making calls to block Ava’s visitation. She hopes she’s not interrupting, but he says never. He asks how the Quartermaines are treating Gio, and she says they all love him, and even Tracy is being nice to him. She came here to talk about the record label he’s funding. Sonny says it’s an investment in Brook Lynn, Blaze, and Kristina. Lois needs a little more information about it, especially the financing. Sonny asks what she wants to know. Lois feels this is a bit of déjà vu with L&B. Sonny says he would never hurt Brook Lynn.

Lois says if anyone else came swooping out of nowhere offering her daughter a record label, she’d say something funny was going on and to walk away. Lois knows he’s not just anyone, she loves him, but she knows history can repeat itself. Lois asks if this record label will be clean or not. She will do anything to protect her daughter and knows he will do the same for his children. She only wants to protect her little girl and the career she’s worked hard for. Sonny says it’s one thing for Ava to turn on him, but now his oldest friend is turning on him, just like everyone else. He tells her to go ahead and leave. Lois crosses her arms and doesn’t budge.

Kristina shows up at Ava’s room at the Metro Court and demands she withdraw the subpoena. Ava says she is a mother trying to protect her daughter, and she should know something about that, given her current state. Kristina refuses to be deposed or testify at the hearing. Ava points out that she’ll be cited for contempt and it will only bolster her case. Ava asks what she’s hiding that has her afraid to testify. Kristina warns her to withdraw the subpoena or else. Ava asks what she’ll do: perjure herself like her mother or get on the stand and tell the truth that she witnessed her father threaten to kill Dex. Ava gloats she’s looking forward to watching her testify against her father in court.

As they argue, someone in a nearby room is photographing them. Kristina vows she’ll get on the stand and testify about what Ava did to Morgan and that she killed Connie. Ava lunges at Kristina, who screams, “Don’t touch me!” She steps back and trips over Cates’ luggage.

Kristina tumbles through the window and falls into the Metro Court pool below as everyone looks on in horror.

On the next General Hospital,

Joss jumps into the pool to save Kristina as Blaze screams her name.

Later, Chase tells two officers that he doesn’t want anyone leaving the scene.

Dante asks someone, “Do you know something?”

Lois tells Sonny, “We cannot table it when it affects my daughter’s future.”

Ava calls someone and says, “I need you like I’ve never needed you before.”

TJ asks Alexis what she’ll do when Kristina tries to take their baby.

EXCLUSIVE: GENERAL HOSPITAL'S KATE MANSI ON THE AVA/KRISTINA SHOWDOWN

Kate Mansi (Kristina, General Hospital) was thrilled when her character began interacting more with Ava Jerome, the alter ego of co-star Maura West. “I just love Maura as a person and have always had the utmost respect for her as an actress,” Mansi says. “I remember when I was on Days of Our Lives [where she played Abigail] and I would watch the Emmy submissions every year. I was like, ‘Finola [Hughes, Anna] is the most talented and most beautiful woman in the world.’ And Maura, I felt the same way about. But she also has this sort of hauntingly eerie quality to her characters sometimes, like at any minute, she could go for your jugular or embrace you and be your biggest advocate.”

Being In The Moment

The unpredictability West infuses into Ava has played out in Mansi’s scenes with her. “I think that has been really interesting for the relationship dynamic between [Ava and Kristina],” she offers. “I can track it back to the scene where Kristina actually asked Ava, at the beginning of Ava moving in with Sonny, ‘Hey, can you look after my dad?’ And I love the way that Maura played it, because Maura was like, ‘You want me, Ava, to look after your dad?!’ It was actually sort of a sweet moment because what Kristina was doing was saying, ‘I, too, was like a black sheep of my family and I don’t care what your reputation is or what anyone else has said about you. You’re going to be living with my dad, and I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt.’ So, to me, she was, Kristina was extending a bridge for the two women.”

Of course, whatever tentative goodwill existed then has effectively been blown to smithereens, first by Ava doing damage to Blaze and Kristina’s privacy by leaking that recording of Natalia, then by Ava subpoenaing Kristina to testify in the upcoming court battle between Ava and Sonny for custody of Avery — and the tension between the women ramped up quickly on the August 1 episode, leading Kristina to crash through the window of Ava’s Metro Court hotel room!

Working on the climactic scenes, Mansi had a front-row seat to the care West takes in her characterization of Ava. “Maura is so protective of Ava, and she was really insistent on [bringing more nuance into the moment] than just these two women having a bitch fight just so that we can get to the result of Kristina going out the window,” the actress explains. “She played it as, ‘I’m arguing this point, you’re arguing this point, and I’m certainly not going to push you,’ but [their confrontation] escalates in a natural way. I think that was really smart and it leaves it in this really sort of knotty gray area because it’s like, ‘Wait, did she push her, or did she fall? Whose fault is it? The blame isn’t black and white. Kristina came to Ava’s hotel room so hot, you know? Off the charts! Kristina isn’t attacking her, but if you think about it, Kristina comes into her space and is yelling at her and upset with her and making demands and there is all this heat coming from Kristina. Ava did not lure her there; Kristina went there willingly, on her own.”

A stunt double was employed to perform Kristina’s plunge, and Mansi marvels at “the absolute art and talent to their craft, which is so often overlooked.” Something that was all Mansi’s doing was Kristina’s terrified scream as she falls. “Rob [Markham, the director] was like, ‘Okay, we have to get audio of you falling.’ Everyone was still on set and looking at me and I had to do this big scream, so I let out this big scream that I thought was really good. And then Rob was like, ‘We need it longer.’ And I was like, ‘Longer?!’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, it’s five floors!’ So we did it again until we got the scream just right.”

@Laura14 T. J. has had a front row seat to view the dynamics of the Davis family since high school. He knows about Christina's relationship problems, her involvement with a cult, the difficulties she has had identifying her purpose/s in life, and her impulsivity that results in problematic decisions. Kristina badgered Mollly into accepting her as a surrogate. T. J. was rightly skeptical of her mental fitness. He shaered his concerns with Molly and she only saw them as excuses for not having a child. T. J. gave i nto Molly's hysterics and sadness and his desires to save their relationship T.J. has always acqueisced to Molly's wishes: no marriage but a partnership,, her dalliance with Brando that he forgave, and the sudden overwhelming desire to have a child at the start of their careers. I think T.J. has been patient enough and justified in his beliefs..

It must air at 2PM there and she can't keep her 🤐 mouth shut.

Where was everyone who usually wades in that baby pool with a drink in their hand?

Shucks, Why wasn't Drew doing his laps in there ? That would have solved @cowboy sam 's and Willow's Drew problem. 😂

Joss is a great lifeguard, or looks cute in the suit anyway.

As Kristina clings to life, Molly will be unable to adopt little TJ and Big TJ a will continue seething. Molly will probably take some legal action...and let's see if Blaze throws her hat in the ring too

After Perez Hilton's interview the whole world thinks it's their baby anyway.

I can just hear Grandma Alexis tell this grandchild how much they are loved, and point to this whole debacle as proof of this.

@Zernia Rose No woman should have to listen to judgement and straight up abuse from a man or be controlled by one.

He's obviously a big boy. Say no. I don't want Kristina as the biological mother of my child. We'll find another way.

You don't say yes and then lord yourself over the situation especially when a woman is in one of the most vulnerable times of her life, emotionally and physically, and is doing one of the most selfless sacrifices for you and your family on top of it. You wouldn't get my kid either. And as a doctor, he should get the physical and emotional changes at least a little bit.

It's a bad situation to begin with and lawyer Molly and TJ should have known better. They were told better. They both need to, especially him, BE better.

I too did not see that coming, but I don't think she will lose the baby. I think she will go into labor and she will be in a coma. How that plays out is anyone's guess. Remember, Nina was in a coma her entire pregnancy and then some. So Sonny will try to blame Ava for "pushing" Christina? If he put her up to this, is he going to feel any remorse as to what happened? The whole set up of that scene was so incredibly contrived. Imagine...Ava with a hotel room directly above the pool area? Imagine that tiny pool and how she just managed to fall from that window way out toward the pool instead of straight down to pavement directly under that window. If you try to analyze how she could pull away with such force that it would propel her through a hotel window? I mean if I try to analyze it, it all falls apart.

How would the MC Court get a 5 star rating with a pool and pool surroundings the size of a postage stamp? And then there's the joke of Joss supposedly being a lifeguard, but more engaged with her friends instead of her duties.

I have to disagree with you about TJ. How is he being a jerk? His greatest fears about Christina being the surrogate are coming to fruition. I don't blame him for feeling the way he does, and Alexis herself also had misgivings about Christina being the surrogate. She knows her daughter. Christina is not the most stable of her daughters and never has been. Remember her thing with the professor that went awry? And then there was the abusive boyfriend. And what about her forray into the cult of Shilo.

I didn't know whom Ava called. You suggested Julian whom we all saw die quite brutally. Do NOT tell me another dead guy is being revived in Port Charles!
