Bob Newhart has died at age 94

One of my all-time favorite comedians and actors. He will be missed by his millions of fans. One of the great ones. RIP.

Loved him in a lot of roles, but I really loved him in the movie from 1997 called "In and Out " with Kevin Kline and Tom Selleck, it was so funny and Bob Newhart was hilarious in it......RIP!

I have been a Bob Newhart fan for decades. I have his comedy albums which are still hilarious. I loved his TV shows and continue to watch them on Decades. Thank you, Bob for always making me laugh, for lifting my spirits and for so many years of great comedy. You have left your mark in the entertainment world. May you be at peace with God.

@CANDLEQUEEN That is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. That kind of movie could not be made in today's social climate. I think I will watch that again soon. Bob Newhart was a treasure for sure.

No wonder everyone loves Newhart! Wry, deadpan, with that Midwestern reserve, he was "normalcy" turned on its edge, and devastatingly funny. Loved his timing, everything. He and the late, great Norm Macdonald had a lot in common.

There were some classic early stand-up routines that Bob developed, with him on the telephone, that he incorporated into his shows-- priceless. He could do "exasperation" like none other....

Just the best. RIP.

I have good memories of listening to his comedy albums with my father, another Bob. His humor was never unkind.

Their wives were BFF' s and then the guys became BFF's, the 4 of them travelled all over the world together. Both guys would talk of their trips when on talk shows.

Although Bob had 4 kids in real life, he insisted that on both of his sitcoms, he would have a wife but no kids. He said when kids are on the shows, the shows become all about the kids, and he wanted the focus of his shows to be adults only. He got his way both times.

Some Bob Newhart trivia, his TV wife Suzanne Pleshette on "The Newhart Show" was married to Tom Preston who played the handyman in the "Newhart" show.

Bob's father in law, his late wife Ginny's father, was Bill Quinn, character actor who played many TV roles, lots of westerns.

Suzanne Pleshette guest starred in the last episode of Newhart reprising her The Newhart Show character.

I watch Newhart (the one in Vermont where they are inn keepers) pretty much every day.

Belly laughs and can't get enough of Bob.

Bill Quinn also had a recurring role on Archie Bunkers Place as the blind Mr Van R who always sat at the bar and offered a lot of wisdom to Archie.

I used to love seeing them on talk shows together.. They were always outrageous. RIP
