Have the writers forgotten Ava knows Sonny is off his meds? Why dig up dirt when you number one know it all and number two can just provoke the man into unfit father status. Ask Valentin and Dex.

Oh and Ava wouldn't be so stupid knowing he's off his meds to threaten him. Because we know who she is or should be. I almost don't blame MW for leaving if this is what she's dealing with and it was her choice.

Speaking of unfit, why would you bicker in front of the opposing party before a contract negotiation? Way to tell Mama Mia that you need her and really don't want her to take a hike.

And no lawyer in their right mind would have a contract that covers two separate people. That's law school 101. Lois is one contract. Blaze is second contract. Scotty isn't this stupid either.

Ava is taking a dirt nap and the murder suspects are lining up. I am really upset that this character is leaving when we could blow up Drew's office with Jordan in it and get rid of this political storyline that I am about to fast forward through. I am not listening to this BS. I have enough in real life and we don't need to glorify real life Congressional loons by basing GH characters on them as a fame reward.

Can we get Kristina into labor now and get a jump start on the custody trial we all have to sit through until probably November sweeps? I so want Alexis to say "I told you so!"

EXCLUSIVE: MICHAEL EASTON OPENS UP ABOUT HIS GENERAL HOSPITAL EXIT

Last week, Michael Easton’s final General Hospital scenes as Hamilton Finn aired, capping off what he describes as a “raw” and “emotional” period where he had to wrap his mind around the show’s decision to write out his character while simultaneously managing a heavy workload filming the rapid downward spiral that saw Finn ultimately leave Port Charles to enter rehab. In part one of Soap Opera Digest‘s exit interview with the actor, Easton opens up about making peace with leaving the show and what his fans’ outpouring of support means to him.

GH’s decision to say good-bye to Finn, a character Easton has played since 2016, wasn’t one the actor was expecting. But, he muses, “You do have to remove your ego from it and realize you have a job to do.” In Easton’s case, that meant handling a lot of challenging material in a compressed amount of time. “The last couple of weeks were very raw and very draining,” he admits. “Every day was emotional, because every day was not only doing the work, it was also [saying] good-bye. I had such a hard time saying good-bye to Jane Elliot [Tracy] and to Josh [Swickard, Chase] and Becky [Herbst, Elizabeth] and everybody that I had come in contact with, so everything was difficult. And it happened so fast. I do appreciate the writers giving me so much material going out the door, but from an actor standpoint, I would like to have had just a little more time to add a little more subtlety and a little more nuance to it.”

A Shift In Perspective

As he began processing his exit, Easton admits, “You get hurt a little bit and you get wounded a little bit, and part of your head’s going, ‘Well, just do it [i.e., do the work without putting much effort into it]’ — and then I ended up investing more [in my performance], to make it even better for them. I really wanted to make it work, so my thinking was, [Finn’s descent] had to go beyond alcoholism. Addiction and things like that, I kind of know a lot about that, but to get where I needed to go [with the character], it had to be almost a complete emotional break.” To communicate that in his work, “You just get down to the raw forms of your emotions, you know? Everything has to be the truth, all the words had to be truthful. It just became about committing to it; you had to cleanse yourself of any feelings you had and just invest and commit yourself. So it was raw for me, and it was humbling, but it also felt good. I felt like I left everything out there.”

Easton says “it took a few days” to shake off the emotional residue, the intensity of those weeks of work left behind. “I think in the old days I probably would have went out and got drunk. But this time, I went home and [his kids] Lilah Bell and Jack were waiting for me. It was sort of like Daddy needed a hug and the kids were waiting with hugs and I honestly, everything was better from that moment on.”

A string of difficult losses in his own life also helped expedite Easton’s ability to make peace with GH’s decision, he says, coming as it did during what he describes as “a very interesting year, a very introspective year for me. I’m the same age my mom was when she passed away, and then Kamar [de los Reyes, ex-Antonio, One Life To Live, one of his closest friends] passing on Christmas Eve. He was the best man at my wedding, I was godfather to his son Michael and we saw each other for a lot of days for 30 years, and then in the end,” amidst de los Reyes’s cancer battle, “I was seeing him almost every day. And it does put your life in perspective and you feel so grateful just to get another day because I know he would give anything to have another day — another day with his family, another day in the sunshine, another day at work. And although I understand that I have mouths to feed, at the end of the day it’s a job, right? And I’m still here and I get to wake up tomorrow.

“So, the lead-up [to leaving the show] had been very introspective,” he continues. “Thinking about my time there, I would think about Sonya Eddy (ex-Epiphany, who passed away in 2022]… I remember giving Tyler Christipher (ex-Nikolas, who passed away in 2023] a hug on his last day on the show. And when I was Silas [the character he played from 2013-15], I remember walking out the door to the parking lot my last day, and the last person I saw was Billy Miller (ex-Drew, who passed away in 2023] and in true Billy fashion, he said something wonderful about, you know, ‘How dumb are these people [for letting you go],’ which was his way of saying, ‘Hey man, I like you.’ And I liked him, and Billy’s not here anymore. That perspective has given me a lot of strength in dealing with this. And honestly, when I walked out [of the studio for the last time], I was just filled with gratitude and love for my castmates, love for the crew. I got to work on General Hospital for 10 years and I’m so grateful for that. I think if you let anything else enter your heart, it just becomes like poison to you, and that poison in your heart will halt you from creating beautiful things going forward.”

Straight From The Source

It was important to Easton that he was the one to share the news of his exit with his fans. “I just wanted them to hear it from me,” he says. “I feel like I have this really amazing relationship with — I’ll say fans, but I think of them more as friends. I realize I’m not the easiest person to get to know because I’m not the most open person and I don’t do lots of interviews and until a few months ago [when he started his Instagram account], I wasn’t even on any form of social media. But they’ve stuck by me and they understand me and I think I understand them.”

That inspired him to film the candid video that he posted to Instagram after shooting his final scenes. “It was a bit of a catharsis,” he shares. “My actual last scenes [that I shot] were with Josh [Swickard, Chase] in the car, and we shot it at the end of the night at the studio, but outside. I have such an affinity for Josh. He’s a beautiful human being, ridiculously kind. There weren’t a lot of people there; it was a very small crew and Josh and me, so he gave me a big hug and I got to hug all the crew, and I was able to hold it in and not shed any tears. After we were done, I just sat in my dressing room for about 45 minutes in the dark. Everybody went home and they basically had turned the lights off — I was worried they were going to change my locks on my door before I got out and take away my security pass [laughs]! But I just sat there in the dark for a minute and then as I was walking out, I thought, ‘The hallways are empty. It’s like a ghost town. Let’s walk out the door and just say good-bye.’ I just wanted to share something with the fans and and open myself up a little bit and make myself a little vulnerable. I had already been very humbled that week, you know? It was a very humbling experience those last few weeks. I was pretty drained and down, and I thought, ‘Hey, let’s just share this. Just be raw, live without a net.’ ”

Healing Gestures

After he posted the video, he was flooded with loving comments from viewers. “That meant the world,” he beams. “Nothing beats a good love story, right? What you give is what you get back and it’s nice to see evidence of that and to get so much support. I’m going to go through and respond to every single person because I was so moved by it — and not just with a heart emoji, I’m going to try to actually say something because people wrote such beautiful things. It healed my heart, it really did. I feel their love, and I draw power from them.”

The video also inspired a slew of his GH castmates to comment with their own loving messages, which Easton also deeply appreciated. “I’m very proud to be an actor, very proud to have been part of this acting community. I have such regard and respect for what all these amazing actors do, and then I genuinely have a passion for them as people. I’m fascinated by them, and I feel like we’re all in it together. I always feel that the love you take is equal to the love you make, right? And I’ve gotten back as much from them as I’ve ever given.”

My thoughts about Ava/Natalia's recording: OK, I'm stymied. Sooo Blaze's mother is not "woke". She said thus and such about homosexuality, Kristina and the baby situation, blah blah and therefore, I ask, so what does that have to do with either Ava gaining custody of Avery and/or Sonny losing custody of Avery?

I was leaning towards Ava playing the tape for Sonny and using it as blackmail (of a fashion) like "Sonny I don't want to go public with this, but I will if you try to take Avery away from me....." Still what is the big deal with Natalia? Her comments seem to hurt Blaze and Deception.

The contracts: Correct @Laura14 There are 2 separate people doing/representing Deception in two different venues. Hello writers..........

Kristina/Alexis: Actually played well artistically speaking. Still I think the character of Kristina is one hot mess as is and has been most of her life. Just sayin'.............

Sonny and his meds: Being off his real dosage isn't running true to the S/L. He should be losing his cool with Ava; making a public spectacle of himself; out of control, etc. So what's up here writers?

Nina/Drew: Cain for Congress; Quarermaine for Congress. Potato/potatoe...yes, name recognition. And for the record, I also agree totally with @Laura14 .... it's a soap; it's an afternoon escape from reality for one hour. Do I want the evening news played out and out and out....I think not.

I don't understand why Ava would share Natalia's recording with the Invader anonymously. Natalia is going to know that Ava must have recorded their conversation. And how does exposing Natalia help Ava with her suit in keeping joint custody with Sonny? Ava is just ticking off more people who may want revenge. Is Ava hoping that Sonny (off his regular meds) will go bat crazy when he finds out about Natalia and that will help her prove he is an unfit father? I just don't understand.

The pharmacist called Valentin after Ava paid him a visit and said he was finished. Are Sonny's refills now at the correct dosage? He doesn't seem as off the rails as he had been.

I too am wondering what Ava's plan is by sending that video. Ava has always been a favorite and I will really miss her if she is leaving.

My guess is Ava senses that Sonny is already making room for a new woman in his life, and exposing who Natalia really is as a person will throw a monkey wrench into it for Sonny. I personally don't understand why Ava, long before this, didn't reveal to Sonny that someone was tampering with his meds. What is her game?

In Drew's office at Aurora Media, Nina was frustrated by Drew's refusal to approve her budget, but he argued that her expenses were excessive. Nina insisted that she needed extra staff because it was fashion week in Paris, and Crimson had to have a notable presence. Unmoved, Drew stood his ground. Seconds later, Alexis appeared in the doorway, looking for Nina. Nina tried to dismiss Alexis, but Alexis explained that she needed to discuss an important matter with Nina.

Unconcerned, Nina asked if Alexis had forgotten that she was Alexis' boss. "Not anymore," Alexis replied with a smile. Annoyed, Nina asked what had upset Alexis "now." Alexis admitted that she'd been upset for a while because Nina had managed to turn a job that Alexis had never really loved into a job that Alexis hated. Nina argued that Alexis was bound by a contract, but Alexis informed Nina that Alexis and Shawn had never needed one. When Alexis mentioned that she would soon return to practicing law, Drew congratulated Alexis.

Nina was dismissive, and she informed Alexis that she intended to promote Adrian DeWitt to editor in chief of the Invader, effective immediately. After Nina marched out to make the phone call, Drew confessed that he'd enjoyed watching Alexis cut Nina down to size. It had been the most fun he'd had all week. Alexis returned his smile as he raised his hand to high-five her.

Later, Jordan stopped by for a visit with Drew. Drew was surprised to see her, so she explained that she'd just returned from a trip. Jordan revealed that she'd heard a rumor that he was running for Congress. Drew confirmed that it was true and that he planned to make the announcement once he'd changed his name to Quartermaine. Jordan was curious if the congressional run was an effort for Drew to raise his profile or if he planned to win the seat. Drew assured Jordan that he intended to give his campaign his all and secure the win.

Pleased, Jordan told Drew that he had her full support, but he had to win because his opponent -- Chelsea Grimes -- was unfit for the job. According to Jordan, Chelsea was willing to say or do anything to win, so she needed to be stopped at all costs. Jordan urged Drew not to delay his campaign. Moments later, Nina returned to pick up where she and Drew had left off, but she stopped short when she saw Jordan. Jordan explained that she had to leave, but she made a point of referring to Drew as "Congressman Quartermaine" as she bid him goodbye.

Nina questioned Drew about the reference, but Drew turned the conversation to their earlier budget talks by offering Nina a compromise. Nina happily accepted, but she reminded Drew that she had backed him when McConkey had asked her about him. She promised that she was all-in to get Drew elected, and she assured him that the Invader stood ready to support him at the "most opportune time." "If I knew what I was doing, I'd offer to be your campaign manager," Nina said. Surprised, Drew asked why she would help him.

"Why not?" Nina asked. She reminded Drew that they were getting along, Willow idolized him, and it was clearly something that he was committed to. Nina pointed out that she hadn't made it a secret that she wanted a better relationship with her daughter, and helping Drew would score points with Willow. However, Nina assured Drew that she believed in him, and he was no worse than other politicians and vastly preferrable to his opponent. Nina pointed out that -- if Drew wanted to win -- he would need all the help he could get.

At Kristina's apartment, Blaze searched for her phone. She found it seconds later, so Kristina invited Blaze to join her for breakfast. Blaze declined because she wanted to get to Deception before Natalia arrived because her mother could be demanding. Kristina reminded Blaze that Natalia had Blaze's best interests at heart. "Or what she thinks are my best interests. Not always the same thing," Blaze said.

Shortly after Blaze left, Alexis paid Kristina a visit to share the news that Alexis had quit her job at the Invader. Alexis filled her daughter in about her resignation and Nina's reaction. Kristina was happy for her mother, and she offered to make mocktails to celebrate. After Kristina disappeared into the kitchen, Alexis noticed an open file with a stack of résumés on an ottoman. Kristina returned to the living room with juice drinks and handed one to her mother. She offered a toast, but Alexis quickly seized the opportunity to ask Kristina about the résumés.

Kristina seemed hesitant as she explained that she was looking for someone to run her center while she went on maternity leave after the baby was born. Kristina admitted that she'd been overwhelmed by the impressive qualifications of the candidates, but Alexis reminded Kristina that the center wouldn't exist without Kristina. Kristina admitted that it was ironic that she would be taking a leave of absence just as the center was ready to open. Alexis assured Kristina that Kristina was entitled to take maternity leave, even as a surrogate.

Kristina appeared uncomfortable. "I know that," Kristina said as she began to fidget with the résumés. "Kristina, what aren't you saying?" Alexis asked. "That I'll be away from the center, giving birth to a baby that I have carried for nine months that was never meant to be mine," Kristina said. Kristina's eyes welled up with tears as she opened up to Alexis about the reality of her situation. Kristina acknowledged that both Sam and Alexis had been right to warn her and that she wondered if the baby would ever know that the woman holding them was their birth mother.

"I can't stop thinking about what's going to happen to me. What am I supposed to do, Mom?" Kristina asked. Alexis wiped away her own tears. Kristina wondered if she was expected to bounce back from the birth and return to the center as if nothing had happened, but Alexis assured Kristina that no one expected that. Alexis insisted that volunteering to have Molly and T.J.'s baby had been an incredibly generous gift, which was proof of Kristina's big heart. Alexis was also proud of her daughter for opening a youth center for the LGBTQ+ community.

Kristina smiled and attributed everything to having loving and supportive parents. Kristina admitted that Blaze hadn't had that with Natalia, while Kristina had been given the space to be who she was. Alexis hugged her daughter.

At Deception, Maxie, Lucy, and Scott went over the latest contract revision, which included Natalia's most recent demands. "You know that woman has given new meaning to the word 'momager,'" Lucy grumbled. Maxie added that Natalia had made certain that most of the work fell on Lois. Just then, Lois breezed into the office and explained that Brook Lynn was unable to attend the meeting because she was needed elsewhere. Lois refused to elaborate, but she happily launched into a story about being mistaken for Blaze's mom by fans during department store appearances. "Can you imagine?" Lois asked with a big smile.

No, I can't," Natalia said from the doorway. Lois assured Natalia that she hadn't meant any disrespect, but it was Blaze's arrival that cut the tension. Blaze seemed happy about being the Face of Deception and shared that some of her fans thought Lois was her mother. Lois smiled brightly, while Maxie silently signaled to Lucy to start the meeting. Lucy took over, but things went off course when Lucy tried to take credit for splitting the duties of the Face of Deception between Blaze and Lois. Maxie was quick to remind Lucy how things had transpired and about Lucy's disastrous appearance on the Home & Heart shopping channel.

When Maxie praised Lois for being warm and approachable, Lucy was forced to agree. Meanwhile, Scott handed Natalia and Blaze each a copy of the revised contract. "Third time's the charm," Scott said. Lucy reminded everyone that it was technically the fourth time that they had tried to satisfy Blaze's mother. Natalia was unapologetic for being demanding on her daughter's behalf, and she suggested their meeting was validation that Natalia's efforts were successful. Natalia looked over things but immediately objected to one of the changes.

As Natalia, Scott, and Lucy argued about the inclusion of video interviews, Maxie's phone began to chime with alerts. Annoyed, Natalia glared at Maxie, so Maxie explained that she received notifications whenever Deception was mentioned on social media. The phone continued to sound with numerous notifications as the negotiations between Scott and Natalia continued. Eventually, Lucy asked Maxie to turn her phone off. Maxie picked it up, but her eyes landed on an article in the Invader. "Oh, my God," Maxie said.

At Metro Court, Ava stood on the balcony until she heard a knock on her suite's door. It was Trina, who had the printer's proofs for the upcoming gallery show. Ava looked the packet over, but she wasn't pleased with the results because the artist was very particular. Trina assured Ava that she would take care of things. When Trina asked if Ava needed anything else, Ava admitted that there was something. "You can tell me everything that Joss has ever told you about Sonny," Ava said. Shocked, Trina carefully explained that she didn't keep tabs on Sonny.

Ava insisted that she needed to protect herself because she was certain that Sonny intended to fight for full custody of Avery. She implored Trina to be her eyes and ears. "Please, just listen to Joss and pass on anything she says about Sonny," Ava asked. Ava feared that it was only a matter of time before Sonny revoked their shared custody agreement, which Ava refused to let that happen. Trina explained that Josslyn never talked about Sonny. Disappointed, Ava asked Trina to let her know if Trina thought of anything.

Later, Adrian DeWitt arrived, but he was not used to being summoned. Ava asked what Adrian knew about Natalia Ramirez. Adrian recalled that Natalia was the mother of pop star Blaze, so Ava asked if Adrian had listened to the small audio file that Ava had sent. Adrian admitted that it had been a busy morning, but he pulled the audio file up on his phone. His jaw dropped as he listened to Natalia talk about Blaze and Kristina's relationship in a derogatory way.

After the audio ended, Adrian asked Ava if it was real. She assured him that it was, and he could use it as long as it wasn't traced back to her. Adrian promised that he always protected his sources, but he realized the impact the bombshell would have on Blaze as the new Face of Deception. He admitted that Ava's timing was perfect because Alexis was out at the Invader, and he'd been promoted to editor in chief. Adrian instructed Ava to send the entire file to the anonymous tipline because he intended to print the story later that day.

At the hotel's pool, Gio greeted Sonny and Avery. After Avery ran over to Josslyn, Sonny asked Gio how things were going at the Quartermaine mansion. Gio admitted that it was nice to have plenty of places to go and practice his music without bothering anyone. He also revealed that Josslyn and Trina would be moving into an apartment on the property. A few minutes later, Sonny approached Josslyn and thanked her for looking out for Gio. However, he asked Josslyn not to share her personal views about him. "I think it would be better to leave the subject of me out of the equation," Sonny said.

Josslyn admitted that Gio was a nice guy, and it was clear that Gio had put Sonny on a pedestal, so she had not said anything to Gio. "And I don't expect that to change," Josslyn added. Sonny thanked her, but Josslyn admitted that she regretted trying to open Kristina's eyes about Sonny. She acknowledged that it hadn't been her place, and Kristina was entitled to "those illusions" about her father. Josslyn had no intention of making the same mistake twice, and if Gio learned the truth about Sonny, it would be because of something that Sonny had done.

A short time later, Josslyn saw Trina arrive. Josslyn ran over to her friend, but it was clear that Trina was troubled. Trina told Josslyn about the encounter with Ava, but Josslyn didn't think it was a good idea for them to talk about Ava because Josslyn couldn't be objective. Trina invited Josslyn to speak her mind, prompting Josslyn to admit that she thought Avery was better off with Sonny. Trina explained that she considered Ava to be a close friend because Ava had always been supportive. "But the Ava that I've been seeing lately...it's like the one Spencer used to talk about," Trina confided.

Josslyn was certain that a custody fight between Sonny and Ava would be ugly. Trina agreed, which was why Trina intended to stay out of it, including as a go-between. Trina felt bad for Avery because Avery would be caught in the middle.

After Josslyn returned to work, Trina ran into Gio. She explained that she was at the hotel for work. She offered to show him the proofs for the opening he was performing at. He smiled when he saw his name because he knew that it had been Trina's doing. Gio confessed that he was amazed at all the wonderful people he had met in Port Charles.

A short time later, Josslyn saw Ava arrive. She quickly enlisted Gio's help by asking him to follow her lead. Josslyn approached Avery and told her that ice cream was being served in the garden. When both Sonny and Ava agreed that Avery could have some ice cream, Gio took Avery to the garden. Once they were alone, Sonny made it clear that he had kicked Ava out because he didn't want to lay eyes on her again. Ava claimed that she had just stopped by the pool to say hello. "As long as we understand each other," Sonny said.

Ava warned Sonny not to try to take Avery away from her because it would go worse for Sonny than he could imagine. Sonny asked if Ava was threatening him. "It's not a threat; it's a promise," Ava said. She advised Sonny not to forget what she was capable of because she vowed to do whatever she had to in order to keep Avery. Ava warned Sonny that he couldn't afford the type of trouble that she could make for him.

Nearby, Josslyn watched the tense exchange between Sonny and Ava.

Well, I guess Natalia is also now bye, bye. And another actress has her Emmy reel. Bravo Blaze!

Natalia is such a one note character although EL did a great job portraying her. It's a shame they keep finding ladies that Sonny has chemistry with and then destroying the storyline. I guess he'll invite her to go look at his trees in the Pine Barren and pick up Ava in the trunk along the way.

And look at Lois as the voice of reason at Deception. From spokesmodel to PR maven. Welcome to GenX. We see both sides and the nuances with which each side should conduct themselves.

I have to say when the writers are good, they are really great and the talented actors bring it. But when it's not on the page, it's not on the stage and I really wish they would get more consistent about it.

They should do what happened with Bobbi when she was outed as a prostitute and that was before the internet. True to life as to what happens when you endanger people with nonsense. If they want to preach, get real about what happens when real people have consequences because of viral gossip.

Watch Kristina's center burn to the ground and you know someone is going to attack them while Kristina goes into labor because no one has a hospital birth on the soaps. I guess that's when Perez Hilton will pop up. Bonus points if he is wearing scrubs.

Although how funny that Kristina's mob boss father gives her zero PR grief, but a gay girlfriend does? Gimme a break, writer room!

GENIE FRANCIS IS 'OVERJOYED' TO HAVE JONATHAN JACKSON BACK AS GH'S LUCKY

A week after General Hospital revealed the bombshell news that five-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor Jonathan Jackson is returning to the show as Lucky Spencer this summer, his on-screen mother, Genie Francis (Laura), is letting her excitement be known.

On X (formerly Twitter),Francis commented about the announcement, writing, “Dear sweet Jonathan Jackson, this show is so lucky to have you back. I am overjoyed! Can’t wait to work with you again.”

The actors began playing mother and son on GH in 1993, when an 11-year-old Jackson first won the role of Lucky. Francis raved to Soap Opera Digest in 2015, “I loved when little Jonathan Jackson was working with us and it was the three of us [Laura, Anthony Geary’s Luke and Jackson’s Lucky]. That was a fun time, really enjoyed it.”

For his part, Jackson has always praised Francis as an incredible mentor to him as he developed as an actor over the course of his original GH run, which lasted through 1999. In 2023, he told Digest that in his early days on the Port Charles scene, “I was just working day in and day out with Tony and Genie. The best place that a young artist and actor could have been placed was in their sphere and their care. They were just incredible teachers and mentors and examples. They very quickly became just Tony and Genie, my TV parents, people that I grew very, very close to [as opposed to Luke and Laura, their iconic characters].” He also fondly recalled, “I remember times feeling like I was coming into my own as an actor in [Geary and Francis’s] presence. I also remember some of the funny improv moments. Tony was always ad-libbing, and Genie would, as well, so sometimes, even at a young age, I would throw some ad-libs in, and I remember Genie laughing so hard, just enjoying that this 12-year-old was throwing these unexpected moments into the scenes.”

In a video he posted to social media addressing his imminent comeback, Jackson enthused that he was “excited to see Genie Francis [Laura], obviously.” Though Jackson returned to the show from 2009-11, Francis was not a GH cast member at the time. They last overlapped during Jackson’s brief reprisal of Lucky in 2015, but this will be their first time working together on a long-term basis for over 25 years.

Full Monica's House: All the General Hospital characters living on the Quartermaine estate

Move over, Metro Court. General Hospital has a new resort in town, located on an old estate.

On General Hospital, Alan Quartermaine once gave his wife Monica a big house -- and it's a good thing, considering how many people now live there. If you need a place to hang your hat, the Q estate seems to be the place to go. The number of characters now living in Monica's house and the surrounding estate is both daunting and mind-boggling at the same time.

To keep up, we compiled this handy list below.

The Main House

Monica Quartermaine
Sadly, we rarely see Monica anymore, but we know she still lives in the home her late husband gave her. In recent years, she's had various ailments that keep her upstairs, recuperating rather than joining in with the family bickering, but knowing she is there offers the audience a little comfort as we see all these "newbies" hanging around her home.

Tracy Quartermaine
As often as Monica has reminded Tracy that the Quartermaine mansion is her house, she always allows her sister-in-law and frequent frenemy Tracy to live there whenever she is in town. Thankfully, Tracy seems like she is here to stay, since she arrived back in Port Charles more than a year ago and became a Q mansion mainstay.

Ned, Olivia, and Leo Quartermaine
Tracy's son is raising his family in the main house, as Olivia and her son, Leo, moved in as soon as she and Ned wed. Ned eventually adopted Leo as his son. Even when Ned and Olivia were estranged a few years ago, Olivia just moved into another wing rather than move out of the house altogether. We guess when you live in a mansion, it's easy to get away from your husband when you're angry.

Lois Cerullo
Ned already has one wife living in Monica's house, so why not two? Lois and Olivia know each other from back in Brooklyn and are the best of friends, so it's like Ned has sister wives living with him. We are not sure why Lois' visit has lasted about seven months now and why she can't find her own place, but at least she makes life in the Q house more fun.

Brook Lynn and Harrison Chase, plus Violet Finn
It feels like Brook Lynn just moved out of her family home (that Aunt Monica owns), and now she is back. At least she brought more boarders with her. Newlyweds Brook Lynn and Chase are now living in the main house as the guardians of young Violet Finn. Tracy insisted there was no room in their little apartment, but there's always room at Monica's house.

Drew Cain
Although we almost never see Drew at home, we were reminded he lives in the Q mansion a few months ago when he and Sam held Scout's birthday party there. Monica welcomed the son that Alan never knew he had with open arms and gave him a place to live. So what if he is a mogul with his own money who can afford his own place? At least he is considering changing his last name to Quartermaine so he can capitalize on being a Q for his congressional run.

Sasha Corbin
Once a supermodel and the Face of Deception, Sasha is now the Quartermaine cook, when nobody knew she could even boil water two months ago. Although she technically has a room in the main house, Sasha spends more time with Cody in the stables than she does in the kitchen. We expect she and Cody will soon shack up together in the apartment above the horses, so at least there will be a spare room for the next stray who wants to move into a mansion.

Yuri
Yuri doesn't come with a last name, but he does come with a variety of skills. He can speak fluent Russian, he's a musician, he's a henchman, he's a bodyguard, and now he is a manservant meeting all Q needs whenever he can. Valentin may have introduced him to the Quartermaines when he took up residence a few years ago, but the family liked him so much, they wouldn't let him leave.

Gio Palmeri
Lois and Olivia's young Brooklyn pal doesn't have to worry about running out of hot water in the dorms at PCU because he's been given a free place to live in the Quartermaine mansion. He's made himself quite at home since moving in and has apparently been appointed point person for any rental openings the family might have.

The Apartment Over the Garage

Josslyn Jacks and Trina Robinson
The Q's have been living on their estate for more than four decades, and we just learned this summer that they have a rental apartment over the garage. Do the Q's need extra income? At least they have Gio around to advertise it and find tenants. Thanks to Gio's tip, Josslyn and Trina are moving on in.

The Gatehouse

Michael, Willow, Wiley, and Amelia Corinthos
Alan and Monica's grandson is filthy rich and can afford his own place, but why bother when Grandma gives you an entire guesthouse to live in? Michael and his wife Willow have lived there for several years now, along with their children, Wiley and Amelia. However, they still refuse to use the Q pool and frequently spend summer days on the Metro Court roof.

The Stables

Cody Bell
Cody made a big splash when he dropped into Port Charles -- literally. He reunited with his long lost best friend, but he bounced around until he landed a job as the caretaker of the Quartermaine stables. He also has a big secret that he's on the verge of sharing with Mac Scorpio.

So why did Ava do it? I'm beginning to surmise (credit to previous poster @RainCityWoman ) that 1. she wanted to eliminate Natalia in Sonny's world; and 2) possibly to show a judge that Sonny is unfit as a dad since he has in his life a person who speaks so disgustingly of other people, including her own daughter and his daughter. As Mama Ava, she wouldn't want her daughter exposed to such a person. Just a guess b/c I really don't see the relevance for what Ava did. Glad the backfire blowout happened post haste instead of dragging it out for ions.

@mysoutherncomfort I sure hope they eventually have an at least "plausible" reason for why Ava is doing what she is now. Ava is pretty astute, it's hard to fathom why she would tape and then out Natalia to begin with. She would have known giving that info to the Invader was a super bad idea. Is Ava off her own meds too, lol?

Can't stand Natalia and I almost felt sorry for her today. Almost, and that just ain't right, lol.

This whole Ava story has made zero sense me lately as well. I thought she was wanting Sonny for her very own, lol. I think she could have had him with very little effort too. But if MW is leaving, I guess this is the lame-o story they wrote to send her off, great choice GH (NOT!). Does it have to be permanent? Boo!

And they sure better have a REALLY good reason for Valentin to be doing what he's doing as well, because it doesn't make sense to me either. Another Boo, in fact double BOO!

If it wasn't for Jonathan Jackson coming, I would honestly take a GH break. I just hope they give him a decent story that doesn't involve him being an addict or deadbeat dad, etc. I need some summer fun, some love, some excitement in my GH day. No more diseases, deaths, mob wars, issues or politics for awhile please!

Diane arrived at Sonny's office. Sonny told her that Avery was not safe with Ava and that Sonny wanted Avery with him. Sonny told Diane that he wanted sole custody of Avery with no visitation for Ava. Diane advised Sonny that in order for him to get sole custody of Avery, Sonny would have to prove that Ava was more unfit than Sonny to raise a child.

Diane pointed out that Avery was no longer a baby, and if Avery saw her father try to take her away from her mother, it could damage Avery's relationship with Sonny. "I'd rather her hate her father than become her mother," Sonny said. Diane started to dictate some notes for herself into her phone, but it sounded an alert. She told Sonny the alert signaled a big problem. Diane quickly excused herself to make a phone call.

Ava sat in her room at the Metro Court. Her laptop was open to the front page of the Invader. The headline read, "FACE OF HER DAUGHTER'S DECEPTION." The article revealed all the details of Allie's relationships with both her mother and Kristina. The article also included a link to the audio file of Natalia's remarks to Ava. The comments on the article were bigoted and brutal. Ava was upset at having read them. She called the Invader office and demanded that Adrian DeWitt sneak his way over to her room immediately.

Soon after, Adrian arrived, gasping for breath. He informed Ava that the story had been picked up, and Adrian was in demand by interviewers, including TMZ and Andy Cohen. Ava reminded him that she had taken great care to edit herself out of the recorded conversation with Natalia. Ava demanded that Adrian keep her name out of it.

Ava warned Adrian not to even let her name cross his lips. She threatened that she could arrange for Adrian to be forced to type with his toes. "Men have killed on my behalf for a lot less," Ava scowled. Ava ordered Adrian to take down the story, since it had served its purpose. Adrian informed Ava that the wire services had picked up the story. It was too late to turn back. Ava had a look of anxious regret on her face.

Ava told Adrian that she hadn't wanted to hurt Allie, Kristina, or herself. She told Adrian that if he kept his mouth shut, Ava would have plausible deniability. Adrian was prepared to tell anyone who asked that the recording had come in through the Invader's anonymous tip line. Ava sent Adrian on his way.

Alexis and Kristina sat on the sofa at Kristina's apartment. Kristina showed her mother the résumés of the top five candidates to fill in for Kristina at the LGBTQ center. Alexis told Kristina, "I'm not concerned about the center right now. I'm concerned about you." Alexis reminded Kristina that the last part of a pregnancy could be challenging, daunting, and scary, but she would always be there for Kristina.

Diane called Alexis and asked her about the news article. Alexis revealed that she had quit the tabloid that morning. At that point, Sonny also had the article on his computer screen. Diane assured Sonny that Alexis was with Kristina.

Diane told Alexis to go to the Invader's website immediately. Diane added, "Make sure you turn the audio up. And tell Kristina I'm sorry." Alexis sat back down on the sofa and played the audio file. Kristina couldn't bear to listen to the entire clip. Alexis offered to help, but Kristina, though angry, remained level-headed. Kristina assumed that Allie was dealing with the Deception PR people.

Kristina realized that the scandal might jeopardize her position at her own foundation. Alexis advised Kristina not to jump to conclusions. Alexis expressed concern that Allie had been robbed of the chance to come out of the closet on her own terms. Alexis grabbed her bag and dashed off to confront Adrian.

Maxie was still in her office at Deception with Allie, Natalia, Lois, Lucy, and Scott, as Maxie read the Invaderarticle about Natalia. Lucy also got an alert about Deception being in the news. Natalia declared that if the Deception staff had created a "media disaster," Natalia wanted to know what was going on. Maxie replied, "Oh, there's a disaster, all right, but we're not the ones who caused it."

Maxie played the recording. As the clip ended, Allie was furious. "Well, don't hold back, Mom! Tell us how you really feel!" Allie exclaimed. Natalia admitted that it was her voice on the recording. Scott asked if the PR department had a crisis-management team. Lucy revealed that the team had been fired in order to cut costs.

Maxie silenced the people in the room at her Deception office. She took charge and told everyone what was going to happen: Lucy was to call the PR team to coordinate a response. Lois was to have Brook Lynne lock down all of Deception's social media accounts, "no comments allowed." Maxie told Scott to guard the door. "From who?" Scott asked. Maxie replied, "From Tracy. We're all gonna need protection if our stock takes a nosedive!"

Maxie turned to Natalia. Maxie demanded that Natalia tell her everything that Natalia knew about the recording. Natalia swore she didn't remember having said those things, nor to whom she had said them. "Because you say such vile, disgusting things so often... to so many people?" Allie snapped.

Natalia couldn't recall having ever said those words to anyone. Allie realized that the article would have an impact on her musical career. Natalia offered to draft a joint statement with Allie. Allie refused to be publicly associated with Natalia after learning how Natalia really felt about her.

Allie called her mother out on all the homophobic things Natalia had ever said. Lucy found it ironic that the person who had "locked poor Blaze in a closet is the same person who just outed her." Natalia claimed to have also been a victim of whoever had made the recording. That made Allie even angrier. Allie accused her mother of having destroyed Allie's future in music. Allie stormed off.

Scott tried to leave, but Lucy stopped him. She figured they might need a lawyer around. Lucy tore up Allie's contract, right in front of Natalia. Natalia threatened to involve the press and the courts if Deception tried to get rid of Allie. Maxie explained to Natalia that Deception, with its diverse clientele, could not afford to have a spokesperson who was afraid to be gay. Maxie gave Natalia an ultimatum: "Deception is a gay-friendly company. So, you and Blaze need to get with the program... or kick rocks."

Lois tried to defuse the situation. She suggested that the contract negotiations should wait, the rest of them should work on the PR response, and Natalia should go after Allie to try to make peace with her daughter. Natalia told Lois that Natalia's relationship with her daughter was none of Lois' business, nor that of any of the others. Natalia picked up her things and left.

Maxie, Lucy, Lois, and Scott sat down to brainstorm their next move. Lois suggested that she cut back on appearances, so as not to be projecting "business as usual." Lucy and Scott disagreed. They wanted to confront the issue head-on. Lucy insisted that Deception had to issue a statement immediately, before the backlash got any worse. Scott asked Maxie, "Is Blaze in? Or is she out?"

Sonny couldn't believe that Natalia had said such things. Sonny wondered if the clip could have been a fake. Diane reckoned that the Invader would open themselves up to a huge lawsuit if they had run such an inflammatory story without having authenticated it. Diane told Sonny that Alexis had quit the Invader that morning and that Alexis had known nothing of the story until Diane had told her. Sonny concluded, "Whoever did this, they hurt my daughter, and that means there's a target on their back."

Diane cautioned Sonny about saying things that might be recorded and used against him in a custody battle. Sonny received a news notification and got upset when he read it. He handed his phone to Diane, who said, "Activists on social media are calling on Kristina to resign from the LGBTQ center that she founded." The complaint was that Kristina was dating someone who was in the closet. Kristina was also being accused of having "internalized homophobia."

Sonny was furious. When Diane handed him back his phone, Sonny threw it across the room. It whizzed past Diane's head, hit the door, and fell to the floor.

Allie returned to the apartment. She had hoped that Kristina hadn't seen the article. Kristina had been reading comments on Instagram. "Looks like I'm canceled," Kristina said. Allie replied, "I think we both are."

Allie blamed herself for Kristina's troubles. Kristina blamed Natalia. Allie offered Kristina "no hard feelings" if Kristina wanted them to go their separate ways. Allie stood to leave. Kristina said, "Don't you dare. You're not going anywhere." Kristina told Allie that everything would be okay and that the two of them would get through it. "I have faith in us," Kristina said. She asked if Allie felt the same way. Allie, tears in her eyes, replied, "I'm sorry, Kristina. I don't."

Allie said she could not see a path forward for herself and Kristina. Kristina offered to guide them through it. Kristina insisted that Allie's big heart and Kristina's love for her would get Allie past anything anyone would ever say about them. Kristina was determined to fight for their love.

Adrian stretched out on a chaise at the Metro Court pool. He ordered a pitcher of margaritas and some food -- and put it all on Nina's tab. Alexis found him there after having harassed Adrian's assistant. Adrian tried to dismiss Alexis. Alexis told Adrian that she was going to sue both him and the Invader "into oblivion."

Adrian dared Alexis to do her worst. He reminded Alexis that, as far as recordings were concerned, New York was a one-party-consent state. Alexis suggested that Adrian seek counsel for when Nina realized how open to lawsuits Adrian had left the paper -- and Nina herself.

Adrian claimed that Blaze, as the "Face of Deception" and a famous singer, was not entitled to privacy. Alexis reminded Adrian that Natalia was not a public figure. The fact that the Invader had "monetized and commercialized the name of a private citizen without her consent" led Alexis to describe Adrian's predicament as "a career-killer."

Adrian grabbed his phone. He wanted to call his lawyer. Alexis stopped him. She offered to waive her retainer and make the whole thing go away -- in exchange for the name of the person who had provided the recording.

Natalia sat in her car. She replayed the audio clip and tried to remember to whom she had been talking. Natalia's jaw dropped a bit as a look of realization came over her face.

Later, as Sonny was showing Diane to the door, Natalia walked into Pozzulo's. Diane left. Natalia could see that Sonny had already heard the recording. Natalia knew that Sonny was upset, but she wanted to tell him about the source of the recording before she left. Natalia told Sonny that the person who had edited themself out of the recording and had supplied it to the Invader was Ava Jerome.

Ava called down to the front desk of the hotel to complain about the lateness of her room service order. While she was on the phone, there was knock at the door. Ava thought that her food had arrived, but it was Alexis who was standing at the door. Alexis said, "We need to have a conversation. One that won't be recorded."

On the next General Hospital...
