I heard that "Runaway Bride" was "Pretty Woman 2 !"

I thought Runaway Bride was a C movie at best!

I saw it on tv too. The youtube story on how they made it very interesting- like Julia's laugh!

I LOVE❤ Julia Roberts movies, but Runaway Bride just did not captivate me the way Pretty Woman did! That role was perfectly suited for her, and the tender rags-to-riches love story held my interest!❤❤❤ I must admit the handsome Richard Geer was mostly responsible!🥰 You cannot think of the movie and NOT think of the infamous laugh!😁

I love the movie. I think it just had a supporting cast that was perfect and interesting ! I can't see the movie the success it was without them. Like Hector Elizandro, and Elinor Donahue from Fathers knows Best and Andy Griffith. And Laura San Giacomo. With Jason Alexander as Richards Geres slimy employee. And Ralph Bellamy. There was more years in acting in supporting cast than the whole two starring actors careers. The plot was good, there was a little story line. And it was a happy Cinderella story. I love this movie. I also love Working Girl, clueless, and Legally Blond. Just fun, movies with good story that are timeless and no violence. I keep them on my streaming, as with hundreds of satilite channels at my house there is never anything good to watch or just reruns. lol

@shoekitty - I agree with everything you said. I especially loved Hector Elizondo in PW and "Runaway Bride". He's also great in "Monk" (and pretty much anything else he's done).

The movies you listed are on my permanent favorites list, with the exception of "Clueless". Haven't seen that one, but I'll check it out!

"Working Girl" I have on dvd, but I watch it whenever it's on tv. Same with "Legally Blond". Great movies!

It wasn't part of the script, but so hilarious!

There was also an alternate ending with Julia being a drug addict and when she od's, he dumps her body in a dark alley.

I like the other ending better!

For me, it's hands down the best romantic comedy.

Those 2 had chemistry and then some!

He is my favorite actor. I loved An Officer and a Gentleman, as well.

What a movie! It had a great supporting cast as well.

Debra Winger was very good. I know she was too young, and not even on the canvas, but I often wonder how Julia would have played in that movie with him.

You know like a Dream Team! 😉

Pretty Woman was one of the best movies. I watch it every time it comes on cable. Runaway Bride was just ok.

I saw "Pretty Woman" once on cable TV which was enough for me. I know a lot of people love that movie, but I'm not one of them.

Never saw "Runaway Bride". Not interested.

@wilma ...I think I am one of the very few people who is not a fan of Julia Roberts...I did see Pretty Woman, mainly because of Richard Gere...lol...and I felt throughout the movie that Julia Roberts acted more like a very silly school girl rather than an Escort service.

I love Diane Lane and Richard Gere together....NIghts of Rodanthe, Unfaithful...They have great chemistry and I felt that she would have been much better in the role of Pretty Woman as an Escort.

I did love Steel Magnolias but the entire cast in that movie were excellent.

I choose to watch something based on the topic more than the cast. In the case of Pretty Woman the topic didn't appeal to me at all, but everyone kept telling me I had to see it. Well, I did, and I will politely say I didn't care for it.

I agree with you. Sorry, I do not see this movie as a love story. The whole premise of a john falling in love with a hooker just doesn't seem romantic to me.

I love pretty woman and have watched many times And also a big fan of Julia Roberts. Hector Elizondo is great in every movie I’ve seen him in. I enjoyed him in the Princess Diaries With Julie Andrews

To those who don't like the movie or Julia Robert's...I say "take a walk on the wild side"!
There is nothing at all serious about it

and in person I don't like Richard Gere. But for having a fantasy movie,

I appreciate both actors!

There was a movie in which Julia Robert's was a step mother.

My DD (junior high age) and I went to see it in the theater.

Here I was busy getting all emotionally involved

and she states (rather loudly) "her lips are upside-down". LOL

ONE OF MY BEST LAUGHS EVER!
