One of the greatest examples of depth-of-field cinematography in film history: Al arrives home and is greeted by wife Milly. Wyler excelled at this.

Love this movie, I have it on my DVR. Good acting and I believe it shows how difficult it was for these war heros to come home,

Harold Russell, who played Homer, was a World War 11 veteran who actually lost both hands during the conflict .He won Oscar for actor in Supporting Role .

@lgfan That is my favorite quote too! I tear up every time I hear it. Its so true & that's what a long marriage is - ups & downs, love & no love, wanting to leave - deciding to stay, working it out. Its the very definition of marriage.

And the important last sentence "how many times have we had to fall in love all over again."
