New Wendy Willaims trailer for Lifetime

Wendy Williams has reemerged into public view in an emotional new trailer for her upcoming Lifetime documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?

The trailer (below) shows the beloved former talk show host, 59, tearfully struggling with health issues amid her family and friends striving to offer their support. The footage is often difficult to watch, as Williams has clearly suffered mentally and physically.

The four-and-half hour, two-night documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? will debut Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24 and 25, at 8 p.m.

I was just thinking about her the other day when I stumbled across the Sherri show and quickly changed the channel.

I think she always struggled with several demons, not just the past drug abuse she's mentioned. I do hope she's getting the proper help she needs and finds good health and happiness.

Pass... Lol. I only saw her show two or three times and I thought she was a female impersonator. After that I only know what I've read and none of it is unique or interesting. Drugs, divorce, crazy behavior, tabloid stories. Typical celebrity has been stuff.

Me too. I always enjoyed her show. Loved her gossip takes, and her audience, blunt and forthright "advice" to people. I liked her interviews too.

I know she went through a lot of things, healthwise, drugwise, though I never knew details, nor do I think we ever know the real deal, nor need to. And then her divorce.

I also really hope she is getting the help she needs and can emerge, even if not publically, but in her life...in a good, solid, healthy, happy place.

I was always worried we'd hear some "bad" news when I see her name, so I truly hope she conquers her demons.

There is a comorbidity between drug use and mental health. Early trauma, environment, and genetics can play a role.

All the boxes seem to be checked with her.

There is a police report citing an anonymous caller who said she was in danger. Someone was trying to poison her.

She was found in bed, covers over her head. Her then husband was downstairs. He did not want them to come in.

Who knows what he was giving her. It is not normal for a woman in her early 50’s to be in bed at 730 in the evening. She was reported tearful.

She also had some early trauma in her childhood.

This is incredibly sad.

Bulging eyes are due to thyroid disease. “Nut job” is not used to describe people that suffer from mental health issues.

All speculation, but who knows how long Wendy was suffering from untreated Graves disease. This is a very serious condition.

With her substance abuse history, she may have tried to self medicate to control the high energy and anxiety that can be a symptom. Of course her wide, bulging eyes are an indicator of the disease. She has other health issues, too.

It seems that she burned a lot of bridges, seemingly left with only those who tried to take advantage of her situation. At least this is what she has professed. But, this may not be true.

She needed someone to take control, but it's hard to help someone with addiction issues, particularly with declining health and altered thought processes. I'm surprised she's made it this long. Sad story; sad life.

A very complex situation, it seems. In the video, her poor sister is distraught that there is nothing she can do at this point. The short cllip makes it seem as if the guardian is at odds with the family. You really have to feel for Wendy's parents, her sister, and her son, who comes across as caring, and baffled. Hoping she and her whole family can ultimately heal.

I think I saw her several times. The first time I heard of her was the Howard Stern show. She was funny! I remembered her when I came across her show by accident. So I watched it. I watched her several weeks in a row. And it happened. She would be absent from the show. Sad she became so ill. I don't know anything about the gal that replaced her "Sherry?" So I dont' watch it. I was under the impression she would come back. Now it's severe. So I doubt she ever will come back.

@GoneButNotForgotten There were always rumors that she was a man that turned into a woman, but who knows? She has always been very masculine to me. I do trulyhope she gets the help she needs. She has just been spiraling out of control for a while now.. Her husband having an affair and fathering another child probably pushed her over the edge.....

I was never a Wendy fan but watched the documentary tonight. It was obviously biased toward her family wanting more control in her life. But it was very sad to see her decline over the years. I hope that she is doing OK.
