I only saw he died "after a brief illness."

When I first saw this topic, I thought I recognized the name but then thought it couldn't be the one I was thinking of because he's way too young. Sad to hear this news; I've enjoyed his acting in everything I've ever seen. May he rest in peace.

Such a wonderful actor. He had such a distinguished voice and manor about him...Loved him!!!! So Young too.. RIP!!! I have seen him in quite a bit over the years.....

He also played the psychiatrist in several episodes of House where, in order to regain his medical license, House needed to participate in therapy.

I really like this guy. That's WAY too early to pass away. He was a great actor and seemed like such a nice man when he spoke in interviews.

He was a standout in the talented cast of Homicide: Life On The Street...a wonderful show ahead of its time. RIP ❤

Agree, he was a real standout on Homicide, filmed right here in Baltimore, fabulous actor. He was in the movie, with Richard Gere and Ed Norton called Primal Fear

I first saw Andre in the TV series Homicide Life on the Streets.

Munch from L&O SVU crossed over from that series.

Andre so talented and I believe he has 3 children with his wife.

I sent the NYTimes article (below) about him to both my sons, who attended the same high school (not at the same time, though) ... I loved that Homicide series ... it was a precursor to The Wire.

He is certainly one actor that I will miss seeing again. Sad to hear of his passing.
