Will Trent episode question

We started watching this series yesterday. Episode 4 was "My Stupid Detective Brain" and was about abusive fathers being kidnapped and tortured which included blinding them. This was done by a son who had an abusive father who was aided by his abused mother and his step-father.

I swear I have seen this exact story on another drama series many moons ago. I was telling PapaWick all that would be happening, what was coming up, etc., and I was correct. However, we have never watched Will Trent before this week.

I have searched the writers of this episode and see nothing in their IMDb history, and have search this storyline. I can find nothing.

Has anyone else seen this storyline elsewhere? If so, what drama series? This is making me crazy...well, crazier than normal.

@MamaWick : I've been a fan of Will Trent since day one and glad it's renewed. As intriguing as it is I'm reminded of Colombo in ways. Hope this jars your memory some.

Boy, signing in to reply took 5 attempts! Anyway, I remember a similar storyline as far as stitching the lids and mouth shut. Probably Criminal Minds or CSI Vegas but don't recall details. I don't think it was a story about orphaned kids. That's all I remember.

Thanks @Desi, but it wasn't about orphaned kids, nor were their lids and mouths stitched shut. These were abusive men who were blinded with a chemical in their eyes and were tortured. Two escaped. One was struck by a car (discovered later to be driven by the parents covering for their son). The other was shot.

Ok, sorry, wrong torture episode. I honestly try not to watch them because they are so upsetting to me. I vaguely recall that episode but don't know which other show it was like.
