Very surprised he will be the new host. Can't see him connecting to the older demographic said to be the base of Wheel of Fortune's audience. Vanna White will still be there so maybe that will help since there won't be two brand new people.

Golden Boy thinks that he deserves any job that he sees as available. He has no personality and the regular audience will not watch him. And his "looks" don't go that far! Wrong pick!

Ryan Seacrest will take over when the long-time emcee Pat Sajak retires after the 2023-24 season.

The long-time American Idol host will take the reins of one of the most popular shows in syndication; Wheel of Fortune averaged about 9 million daily viewers in the 2022-23 season. Co-host Vanna White, meanwhile, has a year remaining on her current contract.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them,” Seacrest said in a statement.

“One of my first jobs was hosting a little game show called Click for Merv Griffin 25 years ago so, this is truly a full circle moment for me and I’m grateful to Sony for the opportunity. I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.”

@NYwoman - "golden boy" has worked his butt off for years and years to achieve any success he has gotten.

I'm afraid I've never ever "gotten" Ryan Seacrest. I was hoping for someone more relatable, but it is what it is. As someone else stated, the ratings will determine if the choice was a good one.

This is what doesn't make sense to me ... the guy is worth around $450 million and is a producer and owner of several shows! He's a very busy guy!

NOW he's going to take a job as a game show host? That's like 10 steps backwards!

With the little information out there, the most likely reason is that Ryan negotiated and won't get a salary, he'll get a percentage of ownership (and profits) from the show ... worldwide. THAT would make sense ... to me, anyway.

'Gee'........I see Ryan as very energetic, quick-witted, and entertaining.

I miss him on Kelly and Mark Live show.

Although, he does make refreshing guest appearances.

Also, he seems to appeal with most (or many) people of all ages.

He has an American Idol following, as well as many seniors I know in my area. Seniors around here (who I know) have been enjoying Wheel of Fortune for many, many

years.

My dear parents (and other relatives) were crazy about WOFortune, and hurried to make it on time to watch each evening.

Well, I'm wishing Ryan and Wheel of Fortune good fortune and much success.

And pure enjoyment for their viewers.
