Why Are People Greedy?

Vanna White says she will remain with Wheel Of Fortune under one condition. She wants a pay raise ! I ask, how much $ do you need?? Her last pay increase was reportedly nearly 20 years ago, she earns $3 million annually while Sajak makes five times as much, according to People via Puck. SMH

A job is a job no matter how much you get paid. You are entitled to a raise if applicable.

If Vanna is going to take Pat's place, I'd say she deserves a BIG pay increase. 8 can't see that happening, however.

VW has made a career of flipping letters and wearing glamorous clothing and jewelry. Big Deal. She's well recognized so that seems to demand a large paycheck.🤷‍♀️ We have some family members who do much more important work, which Vanna probably hasn't the first clue about, but they get nowhere near that kind of pay, She believes she's valuable to the show and if "they" want her, they're going to have to pay, Same thing for Sajak. He reads questions and answers from a card that someone else prepares for him, Who deserves $15M for that? There are many professions that are much more deserving. She can stay or go, makes no difference to me.

20 years and no raise? I'd want a raise too if I were her. That's ridiculous. It doesn't matter the position you hold, but if you've been in a position that long and you're doing a good job, you're entitled to an increase especially if you're popular with the audience.

The news about Vanna White is from a source called "Puck news" and also from Yahoo entertainment. Allegedly, she received bonuses but no pay increase fro 18 years.

Why does Pat Sajak deserve 3 times the pay Vanna White gets? He doesn't do much more than she does. If Pat Sajak demands that much money than so should Vanna White.

The salary is high, but the network thinks that they are worth millions. If someone is willing to pay that much money, it is reasonable to accept it.

Vanna has been a big audience draw for many, many years.

I would bet as many people tune in to see her as tune in for Pat.

I remember the ad campaign: What will Vanna wear tonight?

The show makes hundreds of millions in syndication fees annually for the owners.

I say give Vanna whatever she wants; I don't consider her request greed.

Sorry, I think Vanna, though lovely, makes me laugh with those 'evening gowns' as if she is going to a Miss Universe pageant, and scurrying along to click those letters on, as the contestant is busy solving the puzzle - LOL!

Even in the conversation between her and Sajak at the end of the show she doesn't contribute much, Wheel of Fortune needs to get a personable host and can do without Vanna!

@aj1980 @ Please don't think I'm saying anything bad about you expressing your opinion. I'm glad you did. My opinion is different from yours for the these reasons:

If you live in Beverly Hills or any of the nicer areas around LA, 3 million won't get you very far.

Vanna should be paid what comparable show hosts get paid in this new position.

Plus, no raise in 20 years? That seems like she isn't the greedy one.

Vanna has put in hard word and paid her dues for the show. Her remaining on the show will help keep it going.

The audience loves Vanna. Plenty of viewers watch the show because they want to see her.

I say, pay the lady what's she's worth.

I don't consider this being greedy when compared to others in her industry.

The source was an article from Fox News. The point I was making was with all the poor and hungry people in america, I think that $3 million is enough for standing there touching letters that already light up In todays technology it can be done without her. Im entitled to my opnion just like anyone else

She does look much better in pantsuits.

What leapt out at me in all this coverage is that Pat Sajak is paid five times what Vanna White is. (I wonder if she knew that until now.)

Together they've been "the stars of the show" for over 40 years now. They make a good team.

And she jumped in at a moment's notice to take over hosting duties, when Sajak had emergency surgery. She's a valuable employee.

WHY is the woman always paid so much less than the man? We haven't made much progress.
