The Fall - BBC series

I just finished watching season 1 on DVD. Outstanding. Very creepy, however, since it's about a serial killer and shows some of what he does to his victims. It's set in Belfast, Ireland and some of the lingering violence and attitudes also play a part. Belfast is a beautiful city.

Gillian Anderson (of X-Files fame) stars as the police superintendent. We know from the beginning who the villain is. Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) plays this killer. In his everyday life the character is a grievance counselor (of all things), married, with two young children.

I'm looking forward to the release of the second season.

I watched it on Netflix when it was first released. I liked it, but it was a little creepy. Season 2 is on Netflix, but I haven't watched it yet. It is on my list. I watched the first season while my husband was traveling, so I need to do the same for Season 2 since it would be too complicated to explain it to him!

I like the series, and I am currently i the middle of the second season on Netflix.

I had seen the first season when it was announced that Jamie Dornan would be in "50 Shades of Grey." Because I had seen this show already, whenever people talked about how attractive Dornan is, in my mind, I kept saying, "But he's a serial killer."

I LOVE this series. Gillian is amazing and I dare say this is the best acting we will see from Dornan. So much better than "Fifty."

kates, I was listening to Entertainment Weekly on XM radio and they said exactly the same thing you said about Dorman (that the Fall acting on his part was wwaayyy better than Fifty.

Maybe I'll check it out but don't know if I can fit it in.

I never saw Fifty Shades, but Dornan was absolutely believable in The Fall.

Excellent stuff. I read that Gillian & Jamie are doing another season (3rd)!! Can't wait. Also excellent is HIT & MISS also on Netflix. I won't spoil it, but what would you think if Caitlin J. was a paid "hit-woman in London?" Another clever, well-written, interesting BBC series.

OMG!!! Thanks to the OP for this recommendation. DH and I watched all of season 1 and am now into season 2, episode 3.

This series is riveting and a true psychological thriller.

@Hooty, watch this if you can. It's a really good show. I see some are getting season 2 at the Library. I'll have to look. Things are a bit different for us in Canada. We are still watching Motive which I think was cancelled in the U.S. Here's hoping they continue with this.

rita ~ did you see all of Season 2? If not, I won't spoil it but, suffice it to say, I really don't see a Season 3.

I can say that both DH and myself found this to be one of the better psychological thrillers. It took us a little over a week to watch both seasons. We usually watched 2-3 episodes an evening.
