She played Lucinda Walsh on As the World Turns and Dr. Althea Davis on The Doctors.

She passed away on the 8th. She was 89.

i remember her on ATWT and she was on there for a long time.

she was someone you loved AND loved to hate at times.

One of my few all time favorite soap actresses. She was a true pro. Though I believe she won the first ever Daytime Emmy for Best Actress based on her portrayal of Althea Davis, she was nominated numerous times as Lucinda and should have won at least once. Always a really solid performance without chewing the scenery.

Thanks so much for this post. I remember watching The Doctors with my grandmother in the 60's. We loved Althea Davis, and Matt and Maggie Powers. Eliz also starred in a movie in 1970 with Gene Hackman called I Never Sang for My Father. Rest in peace, Althea.

Remember when Althea was in love with Dr Nick Bellini, what a hot head he was !!!

I watched The Doctors with my mom and remember EH playing Dr. Althea Davis. May she rest in peace.

That was my must see Soap Opera back in the day. I started watching when Lily and Holden were a couple and Lucinda was her adoptive mom. She was definitely a character you loved to hate, but she was brilliant. May she Rest In Peace.

I follow Martha Byrne (Lily) on Facebook. She and Elizabeth Hubbard remained close through the years. She has posted a few times today about her.

She was my favorite actress as "Lucinda".... I still love that name because of her.

I watched ATWT faithfully for decades. Martha Byrne (Lily Walsh Snyder) paid a touching tribute to her "mom".

Loved her as Lucinda on As The World Turns. Was sad when they dumped it for a talk show that went nowhere. I always wished for her character to find true happiness with someone. May she rest in peace, 🙏🏻🙏🏻sending her family sincere condolences.

Among one of the most unique and wonderful soap pairings were the years Lucinda and John Dixon were together.

They just don't make soaps like this anymore, they don't write them like this anymore and they sure as heck don't act them like this anymore. Take a lesson soaps of today. Better yet, take a lot of lessons.
