My favorite movie, which is sad, romantic, wonderful, scary, thought-provoking, historic, and has terrific acting is Dr. Zhivago.

Watching this movie gives one a bit of insight into the Russian way of thinking, even though the movie is many decades old.

Old Yeller. I saw it when I was a little girl and to this day I wish I'd never seen it. And any other film where a dog dies (Marley &Me, Turner &Hooch, etc. But Yeller was the worst of the worst).

@Marceil . Rachmaninff's music very intense. Really sets the mood for this movie. Trevor Howard was great too.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale ....this is a less well known movie starring Richard Gere. It's just so sad, I couldn't stop crying. It's based on a true story.

Most of the above movies made me cry. The one that stands out was when I was 17 and watched Wuthering Heights with Laurance Olivier. I walked into the kitchen afterwards with a box of tissues. My mother said what's wrong and I told her. I said I can't stop crying. She said we all cried during that movie.
