All Creatures Great and Small is one of the most heartwarming series ever produced for Masterpiece. This new version is better than the first BBC All Creatures which aired in the 1970s and 80s and was pretty good in its own right. The old series is part of the BritBox library, so you can watch that one and compare. To me, the current version captures the tone of James Herriot's books more. The old version has lovely scenery, but with the enhanced technology of today, the cinematography is spectacular in the new version.
