Alert Missing Persons Unit Series SPOILERS

Premiered Sunday, January 8th on Fox - each episode will feature the search for a missing person.

Starring Scott Caan as James Grant and Dania Ramirez as Nikki Batista.

This first episode included the twice-kidnapping of the daughter of a CIA agent, ending in a happy conclusion.

It also included the disappearnce 6 years ago of the son of James and Nikki, now divorced.

Although they do find their son, it was a bit of a stretch and all of a sudden he is just back home with nothing said about the kidnapper. Seems there will be more to him than meets the eye. If he is really the son.

Could do without Nikki now engaged to a co-worker (just no) and we are off and running with all kinds of personal angst between the three adults.

Maybe worth watching, maybe not. If I miss an episode there is always HULU.

Sounds like that program "Disappeared" which I quit watching because not knowing the outcome left me very unsatisfied. If I'm going to waste a hour watching a whodoneit, I want to know the outcome.

Spoiler alert.

At the end of the show, you see the newly returned son home in his bedroom. He is ripping up a diary with notes circled pointing to pictures that are labeled mother, and also notes about the blueberry pancakes. I believe he is not their son, but is someone who has knowledge of the son and is capitalizing on the parent's vulnerabilities. More will be revealed in upcoming episodes. This will most likely be an on-going thread thorughout the series.

@Kachina624 My understanding is that the outcome will always be positive. The case they solved ended up with the child being returned safely (after 2 kidnappings-same perp storyline).

I think it is heading into the unrealistic zone since the recovery of their own son is missing quite a bit of info.

As I posted upthread, I do not think he is really their missing son.

I also think Scott Caan does not look so well. I know it has been a bit since Hawaii 5-0 but maybe it is just age.

@retiredatlast I found it unrealistic how they just brought him home, wearing the same clothes and still with stitches on his face from we assume was an assault by the alleged kidnapper.

I posted upthread and I agree-he may not be their son. No DNA test?

He is still a minor so too many skips to make the story realistic.

I liked the season premiere; thought the show was pretty good. I'll watch it again tonight. As a Philly resident, the fact that it takes place here is a plus for me.

There is no way that's their son. The dog didn't know him. That's all the proof I need.

@Citrine1 From Philly to Vegas (to get their long lost son) and back to Philly in one afternoon. OK.

Unfortunately the show is filmed in Quebec (although we have been to Philly years ago and it is a great city to visit).

Did the dog not know him because they did not have the dog when he disappeared? I had the impression the dog was not around at that time.

@Cakers3 LOL. When I saw that part about Philly to Vegas and back to Philly I thought I must have missed something (like maybe I left the room for a minute or something). What the heck was that about? That was so ridiculous! When I realized they were back in Philly and wearing their same clothes I was a tad confused! I didn't dwell on it though and let it go, blaming it on artistic license!

I can tell you this, it's a 5 1/2 hour flight from Philly to Vegas. And there's a three hour time difference to boot, so that was one long day for those folks!

I figured the show wasn't filmed here, but they showed a few Philly things so that made it fun. Hoping they do that from time to time.

With regards to the dog, I was under the impression that the dog was with them 6 years ago when the kid was taken. If it was a newer dog, there wouldn't have been any point in the show making note of the dogs reaction (or lack thereof) to the kid.

I'm sure more will come out about this tonight.

@Citrine1 According to an interview with Scott Caan-he and Nikki will be going back and forth all season regarding is he or isn't he their son.

He says yes, then he says no.

She says no, then she says yes.

All.....season......long.

There had better be a good backstory to this "son" to keep it interesting.

Of course we never saw a dog when she called him to say their son was missing so I guess we are supposed to speculate about that issue. It's either one way or the other. LOL

I just looked up the actor who plays Keith (Graham Verchere) and he played the young Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor. I thought he looked familiar.

That's so funny. I never saw The Good Doctor, but when I saw this kid he reminded me of Freddie Highmore, who I know from Bates Motel.

Well last night was another *yawn* for me.

So Keith was kidnapped at age 11, missing for 6 years, which makes him 17 years old now.

Yet the sister is being defended for her mistrust by the father because she is only 17 years old and still a teen.

So either they are twins or somebody is not watching the script.

The opening scene in this episode was in broad daylight and she managed to get him in the car with no help; thank goodness for cameras.

I don't know-there are just too many missing pieces and timeline jumps which make no sense. Also the cases seem to be solved too neatly and other than the wrong house last night just too fast.
