According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the Star Search alum died on Tuesday, December 13.

TMZ reported on Wednesday, December 14, that the dancer’s wife, Allison Holker, informed officials at the Los Angeles Police Department one day prior that Boss had left their home without his car, which was unusual behavior. Police later received a call for a shooting at a hotel in L.A., where Boss was found dead.

The Alabama native rose to stardom on So You Think You Can Dance, first auditioning for season 3 of the competition series. He didn’t make the Top 20 initially, but he returned for season 4 and came in second place. Boss later appeared throughout the series as an All Star dancer.

In 2014, the Step Up 3D star joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as her in-house DJ. Three years later, he teamed up with Ellen DeGeneres for Ellen’s Game of Games.

Boss married the Dancing With the Stars alum, 34, in 2013. The pair welcomed son Maddox and daughter Zaia in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Holker is also the mother of daughter Weslie from a previous relationship.

So sad, so young. I remember seeing him a few times on the Ellen Show, he had a lot of energy and a fun personality! Really sad!!! RIP!

An exceptional showman, dance icon. A father, husband, innovator and creator..

In 2014, Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a guest DJ. He eventually became a permanent fixture on the series and was elevated to co-executive producer status in 2020.

I just saw this news. I first saw him on So You Think You Can Dance and, even though I don’t follow him or his wife, their account would occasionally pop up on my Instagram feed. It was always a pleasant surprise to see them dancing.

But it also clearly showed that you never know what’s going on behind the scenes and in one’s mind. This is shocking and very sad news to me.

Twitch and his wife just celebrated their anniversary 3 days ago.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss and his wife, Allison Holker, celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary just days before his death.

“It’s our 9th anniversary!! I couldn’t be more grateful to celebrate this perfect magical day!!!” Holker gushed in a post to her Instagram last Saturday.

“Saying YES to @sir_twitch_alot has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life!! I feel so blessed and loved!!” she continued.

“I love you baby and I will never take you or OUR love for granted! I LOVE YOU #happyanniversary#bosswedding2013.”

Holker, 34, included a slideshow of photos from their wedding day to the tune of Adele’s “One and Only.”

The late DJ also marked the milestone with his own Instagram tribute to his wife, writing, “Happy anniversary my love @allisonholker#9years ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

The next day, Holker and Boss appeared to be happy and in love as they danced to an Alicia Keys Christmas song on social media, where they posted videos together throughout their relationship.

“HOLIDAY SUNDAY FUNDAY DANCE !!! With my lover @sir_twitch_alot,” she captioned the video, adding the hashtags, “#thebosshouse #holidayfun #dance #bossstudios.”

Such devastating news ! I loved watching him on So you think you can dance and he went on to the Ellen show. He had so much going for him but you just never know what's going on in someone's mind and what demons they are dealing with. My hear goes out to his wife and children.

So gifted and just a natural talent...as a dancer and DJ. Heart wrenching to learn this beautiful man was deeply suffering. I wish that his family will be able to find peace in time. Such a tragedy.

This made me cry. What a beautiful looking family, so much love shining in thier photos.

This is a big problem in our country, depression, anxiety and emotional instability is chronic among all age groups. We need better support systems out there built into our daily lives. I work will teens 14-19 and this is chronic for that age group. The daily changes in emotion, thinking, or behavior that jumps on these kids is exhausting to them. Suicide is the 9th leading cause of death in this country. Why is this not being addressed, why isnt mental health made a priority in schools, the work place etc. in legislation. WE need built in mental health support programs - not just talk. TALK is cheap without any action. WE need to start addressing this..before it spirals further out of control. OK thanks for letting me going on...Just a mom, and educator here wanting everyone to know they matter on this Earth. Peace to you all...
