Sorry should have said Antonia Gorga from RHONJ...Joe and Melissa Gorga's 17 year old daughter, received a brand new Porsche for her 17th birthday!!! Entitled much?? I think that is just crazy-no matter how much money you have.

If I won the lottery I would do the same. We've jokingly discussed how we would spend our millions $$ if we won. I don't hate how how other people spend their money. Good for them if they can afford it.

I would never buy a seventeen year old such a fancy car. They are still learning how to drive and will undoubtedly end up giving the car minor scratches and dents. She is a beautiful young lady but she definately looks older than seventeen.

I don't think giving a 17 year old such an expensive car is practical at all. If you were going to gift them a car, make it something a little more reasonable, so that when they ding it and nick it, its not such a big deal!

But then again, its not my money, its theirs..I am more concerned with her dress being so short and the cleavage showing so much a t 17 years old.

She is a beautiful young lady that doesn't need to show everything she has to be attractive. She already is..I just don't understand these super short dresses that once you sit down, you have to constantly be jerking on it, I'm sure...

I got my license at 17 in Jersey. I got a key to the family Oldsmobile.

Had I known I could trade up, I would have driven up the turnpike and knocked on Joe and Melissa's door. Good for her!

I've been working my whole life and I still can't afford a car like that although I do have to dock points for going German rather than Italian. Ferrari is taking notes, Joe.

The first car should always be practical and not too expensive for the reasons that you explained. I would be worried that a teenager was driving such an expensive car. I could only imagine how expensive the car insurance is for a Porsche and a seventeen year old combined.

The scratches and dents are the least of the worries. A Porsche isn't always the easiest car to drive. They're very powerful and fast and while they have lots of driver aids, drivers, especially younger drivers, tend to run those off. If you turn off the traction control and other driver aids, they can become pretty challenging for a less experienced driver to handle.

There are better, safer options out there for a younger driver. Porsche has driving schools around the country to teach you how to drive a Porsche. If there are schools to teach you how to drive a specific car, it might be too much car for a younger driver.

Now with that being said, even an idiot driving a Porsche recklessly should walk away from a crash due to the safety features built-in (airbags everywhere and a strong frame.) The problem is what happens to everyone else around her.

If you want to buy your kid a very expensive car, fine. Just buy them one that's less likely to kill them or anyone they hit. Something a bit slower and more manageable would be wiser. It can still be expensive, but you don't have to make it expensive and dangerous.

If I had the Gorga's lifestyle and could afford it, I'd probably do the same thing. As others have pointed out, though, I'm more concerned with the way she's dressed and wouldn't allow that. I always thought Antonia was far more conservative than her cousins who dress that way.....evidently not.

I looked it up and this Porsche looks to be the Macan which starts at $57,500 which means it's probably a $60-70 plus thousand dollar car depending on options.

I don't know if you've priced cars lately but that's honestly not horrible. Most SUVs will cost you around $50,000 these days. Economy cars are close to $30,000.

That car is more about the parents. @lgfan There have been numerous reports of money issues with the Gorga's. Why would you buy her such an expensive car? What next?

A seventeen year old child should not be given a car like that. She has done nothing to earn it. It is an empty status symbol. Not to mention the dings that it will endure.

The gift would be appropriate for an adult child. If you can afford it maybe a college graduation gift.

But they do now! My friends 2 granddaughters went to their high school proms recently in dresses similar to this--low cut on top high cut on bottom--LOL!! Mind boggling!!
