RIP Frank Bonner from WKRP in Cincinnati

He was SO funny as Herb Tarlek! I don't think I ever saw him in anything else, but I loved that ensemble cast!

He died from Lewy body syndrome. We have two friends who have that now, one younger, one older. Our older friend's younger brother died from it about 2 years ago. Our friend was diagnosed after that, right before the pandemic hit. Our younger friend has been living with it for about 6 years. It's another horrible disease.

Like you, I don't recall ever seeing him in anything else, but loved that show.

Herb was always wearing those loud plaid jackets and he adored Lonnie A. who wouldn't give him the time of day.

It was such a fun show....so sorry to hear he is gone.

What a character he played on WKRP.

I looked up his acting credits. He had 59 acting credits, mostly TV. He was in Mannix, Love American Style, Police Woman, Cannon, Emergency!, Fantasy Island, Love Boat, Simon and Simon, Night Court, Murder She Wrote, Harry and the Henderson's, Evening Shade and Saved by the Bell.

Did not realize he appeared in so many shows.

WKRP was one of my favorite shows of all time. A great cast, brilliant writing, and just about as perfect a show as you'll ever find. He was 79 when he died.

First The Big Guy, now Herb. I agree with all you said, and it's not just because I live in Cincinnati. (ahem) When they re-ran them I recorded them all. Classics.

Lewy's Body dementia is not fun. My mom had it and the hallucinations that go along with it are horrible. Not only do you have the "normal" issues with dementia, but then there are vivid hallucinations also. She'd see people who weren't there on a regular basis. It's not a good thing to get.

one of my all time favorite sitcoms! Have it all on DVR from when it was shown on some station a few years ago. I remember watching it with my dad back in the day when it was new , We would just laugh like crazy !!!! He loved the show , so whenever I watch it I think of him . My favorite characters were the Big guy ( big guy , little guy ). That always cracked me up !!😂 And Johnny Fever . I associate Herb with him saying "ok fine ". LoL !!!!

He appeared in a horror movie called EQUINOX (from 1970). Those who grew up in the Philadelphia area might remember it from its many airings on Channel 48's CREATURE DOUBLE FEATURE.
