RHONY-Tinsley and Scott broke up!

Apparently Scott ended the engagement! I guess we will see her back on RHONY, maybe not this new season, since it has already been filmed, but maybe after that.........Wonder what happened? It seems like they have been engaged forever, but he said 14 months!

"After fourteen months of engagement, Tinsley and I have ended our relationship, and we have been living independently for the last few months," Kluth, 40, tells PEOPLE in a statement. "This was an incredibly difficult decision, but it is one that I believe is best for both of us. I will always care about Tinsley and I sincerely wish her happiness and success in all that she does in the future."

"While I understand this news will be of interest to many, I ask for privacy and understanding during this time as I continue to work on recovering emotionally from the end of our relationship," the statement concludes.

A source close to the couple tells PEOPLE Mortimer was "blindsided" by the breakup.

I never thought he was in love with her because she had to jump through all these hoops for him. He never seemed to compromise. She is probably devastated because she was invested in the relationship but him not so much. Hopefully, she will find someone who is more suited for her lifestyle.

Well, all that off and on again . Something wrong from the start. Maybe , they were using each other - he for her family's name & connections and she for all the $$$$ gifts he gave her.

I was trying to remember when she was last on WWHL, she was in his apartment and said they were very happy. In that same article he says they broke up "serveral months ago."

I am not surprised, they were always so on again off again. I hope she kind find the right guy and find happiness, but I agree she will probably be back on the show.

Oops. I didn't see this and posted it in the Bravo news thread for the month of March.

I've seen comments elsewhere that based on her Instagram, they did not break up a couple months ago. But I don't follow her on social media so I don't know.

Something seemed very off to me with them. She is so childlike and was so over the top with him and he seemed like he couldn't care less one way or the other. Yes he seemed to make her jump through all kinds of hoops. It was almost like he wanted to see how far she would go for him. She upended her entire life moving to Chicago, only to have him break off the engagement.

But she came off as desperate. Desperate to be married and desperate to have a baby. It's 2021. She can have a baby on her own. Honestly, she doesn't seem emotionally equipped to have a child though.

@Lipstickdiva I think Tinsley is very immature and childlike, and is looking for someone to take care of her......She seems like she is in love with being in love!

Yes, so desperate that she settled for HIM. In other words, I never could figure out what she saw in him. He seems so blah. And yes, she is so childlike and still attached to Mom's apron strings.

I might or might not be watching NY when it returns, but please, don't bring her back. I never cared for her, though I'm sure she's a nice person. That relationship, such as it was, always struck me as her desperation being paired with him enjoying having a baby doll society blond on his arm. I'm guessing the baby doll thing grew tedious. Meanwhile, I'm guessing she's still desperate. I'd also add that whether she was being nasty or not, Dorinda Medley called it right...

He appeared to be a very average guy. I think she was attracted to his money or she wouldn't have looked twice at him. I think he used her to get free promotion for his business. Best they broke up before the marriage. She is very needy and desparate.

I guess I don't get the propensity to blame Scott. Maybe he was at fault and maybe things just didn't work out. Personally, I can't see many men wanting to put up with her being so needy for a lifetime.

i dont get it either @stevieb .

isnt it better that he called it off now rather than go through some messy divorce later? maybe he was spending a lot of time with her the past covid year and realized it was not going to work out? again, i really believe she wants to be in love, and married, and having a baby.....but you cannot force that. i think he did them both a favor.

I liked Scott....he seemed like a very nice person but of course I don't know him personally.

Tinsley is immature and acts like a child. I always got the impression that she was looking for a man to just take care of her..more of a Father figure.

Maybe it was her mother he was breaking up with being that she seemed to be in every part of Tinsley's life.....and didn't Tinsley like it that way and still call her "Mommy"? Though maybe I'm remembering wrong about the Mommy thing.

This doesn't surprise me. She seemed to be more into the relationship than he did.

I think she can do better. Yes she is rich and spoiled, but underneath it all she seems like a nice person. Unfortunately she is stuck with that mother of hers.
