ID Shows, No Sense of Self-Preservation.

Call me crazy, I don't let strangers in my home. I don't pick up strangers on the road.

On ID, a woman was at the laundromat and a guy had no change so she gave him money. OK so far, a kind gesture. After finding out he had no place to stay she said, "you can stay with me in my camper" Long story short, he had killed 3 people. He did get a far as restraining her but the cops got there.

Another woman caught one of her ner do well handymen going through her jewelry box. Later she handed him her truck keys to get home and come back the next day. He disappeared with her truck for 3 days. When he finally returned it she had put expensive rings in the glove compartment and surprise, they were gone. Ended up the other handyman took money and when she demanded it back he killed her with a freakin sword and beat her. She knew both guys were shady.

I don't get it and never will.

@Tinkrbl44 I apologize, I should have added it is true crime. Some cases are from years ago, some recently. Some have the survirors on as was the case with the woman from the laundromat story. She didn't seem bothered that she survived taking a killer home and narrowly missed being his 4th victim

DD came in with bags of groceries and I got distracted.

Many older people and people who live in smaller towns grow up and live in a much more trusting manner than those of us who are in big urban environments.

Seeing the good in others and expecting kindness and manners is not necessarily a weakness, but unfortunately, there are too many folks out there who want to take advantage of others.

DH hitchhiked all over Europe when he was young, and that was the way of the world. It was all a grand adventure and very fun and easy to make friends. Nowadays nobody hitchhikes.

Of course, there are thousands of scams online, and just as many innocent people who fall for them and become victimized.

It is a somewhat sad state of society...
