Stupid Progressive commercial with Motaur man

I just do not understand the one with the man that is half man, half motorcycle. Just why? Especially the one where he is at the health club and says to the other customer TELL IT TO THE RAIN. So dumb.

I do not find any of these half man commercials persuading me want to get their insurance at all....in fact it makes me not want to buy it.

All this time I thought they were Geico commercials. They surely lost money with this theme.

The Motaur is a take on a Centaur which is half man, half horse. He says tell that to the rain because apparently he can't ride/drive in the rain, and of course it makes not sense. I commented recently on my FB that I found it interesting in another one of those commercials that the Motaurs out in ithe wild all had helmets on, but the civilized one doesn't. Most of my friends had no idea what I was talking about.

The Liberty Mutual one was just on with the kids unwrapping their Christmas presents that starts out with the lady saying studies show that people remember commercials with nostalgia. I told my husbend they also remember the ones that annoy them. Maybe that's the whole point.

Progressive makes some good commercials but, I agree, the one with motaur man isn't one of them. I've enjoyed the ones with Zoom calls, Dr. Rick (becoming your parents), and Browns' QB Baker Mayfield and his wife (living at the stadium).

I like commercials that make me laugh. And I get a real kick out of the ones about trying not to become your parents. Such as, not moaning when you sit down, not pointing out someone has blue hair, not telling the waitress your name, and so on. They make me laugh every time, even though I have seen them over and over.

I just don't get this commercial with the motorcycle/man. What conclusion am I to draw from it? It certainly does not make me want to switch to Progressive Insurance; in fact, it turns me off.

I don't mind them. What I don't get is why there needs to be a new thread about everything that annoys people. My list would be long but I don't see the point.

LOL the Motaur man.....yea most of the commericials make no sense or insult ones intelligence. Being a science minded individual the first thing I thought of when watching that one was wondering how he performed certain "body functions" LOL Yup I went there LOL!!!

Another one I no longer find cute is for a certain brand cat food and the cat lady whose Son yells from another room that he fell ....she is so into her cat she tells him to get a bandaid...."but Mom Im bleeding".....she exclaims get 2!!! ......somehow I dont find that funny and I have a wide sense of humor.

@Lali1 Well I think when you share things that annoy you, it is a good way to find out if it annoys other people too. And once it is shared, maybe it is not as annoying. You know, the whole thing about sharing grief lessens your grief. There are so many things that we CAN'T talk about here, so I don't mind these threads one bit.

The commercial is for Sheba cat food.

The kid (it could be a boy or a girl) does not let out a blood curdling scream. Heck, the kid doesn't even yell in pain at all. He or she just informs Mom that they fell. Moms know by the sound of their kid's voice whether something is urgent or not. This mom knows that it isn't an emergency just by the tone of the kid's voice, so she tells him or her to get a bandage from the cabinet.

When the child informs Mom that they are bleeding, again, there is no panic in the child's voice. No urgent tone. Just a matter-of-fact tone from the child, so no need for Mom to go running up the stairs. The child isn't screaming and crying in pain. So Mom tells her child to get two.

If anything, it's refreshing to see a parent that isn't a helicopter parent.

i cannot think of one commercial that i have ever had to mute.

i either sit through the ones i dont like, check my phone or computer, get up to get a snack or water, or head to the bathroom. LOL
