Y&R Nick & Sandra Allen's broken neck

Sharon is talking to Nick and recalls the night of the accident when he accidentally broke a girl's neck. It all comes down to his senior year of high school when he decided to have a huge party, Sharon was there also but they weren't dating yet. The party starting getting out of hand and an exspensive vase got broken, so Nick got mad and kicked everyone out except this girl Sandra.

After everyone left Sandra and Nick continued drinking and went out to the pool. Sandra was a j...unior and was a professional diver and was training for the Olympics. Nicked dared her to dive off the balcony and into the pool and if she succeeded he would give her a hundred dollars. She took him up on the dare and when she hit the pool she didn't come up. Nick went to save her and gave her CPR.

He managed to revive her but she couldn't feel her body. Victor then showed up and made a phone call. He told them that Nick was in a big mess and he needed them to clean it up. Victor did whatever it took to prevent the accident from ever coming out and paid all the hospital bills, family and the girls college tuition in order to keep quiet. Sandra took full responsibility for the accident and Nick got away with it;. nick had no idea that Victor made that call. Sharon jus knew because she was hiding in the pool house watching everything go down/.....WOW

Wow! I don't remember that , it must have been when I still worked. Boy Sharon was a lurker way back then. If it was an accident why would she accuse Nick of murder?

I don't remember it either. But in the early times of Y&R, there were no Vcrs to tape shows and no repeats shown so if you worked as I did, you missed quite a lot. I just think it's strange that Sharon would bring this up now when it might have helped her in court.

Me either, but we were overseas 1988-1990 and I didn't see Y&R for 2 yrs., so maybe it happened then!

Hmmmm, I might google this later cause I was a stay at home mom til 1990 and don't remember this. I assumed it happened after 1990.

If prominent leaders can make things up out of whole cloth why not soap opera writers?

Just who was the actress that played Sandra Allen this must have gone on for several months before the issue was settled....

I have been watching since the show began and I don't believe this ever happened but has recently been written in to make the show more interesting!! I could be wrong, but if anyone can really prove this storyline and the year, I want to check it out!

OOPS!!! Guess I was wrong but am surprised a lot of us just can't recall this as this would have been a huge event it would seem.

Well, they rewrote Austin, I guess they decided to rewrite Nick and Sharon as well. Pratt, the new writer probably didn't feel like getting familiar with Y&R SL history, huh.

I don't remember that happening either. I think Y&R is just rewriting history for the storyline purposes of today. I hate what the writers are doing to this show.

Yes, I checked and didn't see that name. I also googled it myself. No such character.

Thanks just wondering I really think they made it up...

Glad in real life we can't say something and than pass it off as real history...

even Soap opera's should stick to that which is with in the blue print..

I am doing family history and so much is being made available to track now...

I don't have patience with these "easy=out" back stories that are popped in to "explain" things.

If the writers can't do their homework, the actors should speak up! A back story like this about Nick would have been used by Sharon AGES ago!!

It is hard for long time fans to see characters who are being written against their type. I've watched since Day 1 when I was a young mom folding laundry during Y&R/ baby nap time. I'm not the only one obviously!!

Maybe it is a story that Sharron has made-up in her mind and it will prove that she is really a looney tunes! After all, who is going to believe her over Nick & Victor?

I'm also sick of the way Sharon is being written and has been written for years now. She's turned into everyone's scapegoat. I'd love to see her start being written as a strong woman who can take care of herself and her daughter. Maybe have her start her own business. Just something besides the craziness which has gone on for way too long.

Wow! My guess is the writers just made the entire things up. They had to have something major on Nick and they needed for Sharon to be able to hold it over Nick and tell it to Austin so she could be involved in this story line and another person like ""who did it""?

Maybe if we google ""did it really happen""?

So I just googled about Nick breaking someone's neck and the opening paragraph of Soap She Knows says, that Nick was starving for affection from his father Victor but was very close to his "step-father Jack". Is this the same Jack? This is news to me. I just never thought of Jack as Nick's step-father. I know Niki was married to Jack but Nick was older then, were Niki and Jack married when Nick was young (in his teens when he was in boarding school).
