I read about this movie in the local paper and decided to watch it.

My review: EXCELLENT MOVIE

Gives an interesting perspective by the writer. Give it a try, I think you'll like it.

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I didn't realize until the end that this was based on a true story.

Good acting as well.

That's good to know, @Love my grandkids . I've heard good things about it elsewhere too. Raw, real. J.D. Vance, who wrote it about his own life, is someone I've loved to see interviewed-- thoughtful, interesting man.

The Atlantic said it is the worst movie of the year.

Apparently misses the point of the book so as a lover of the book, I will pass.

Glenn Close and Amy Adams are two of the stars.

You may not recognise Glen but at the end, she really resembled

MawMaw as you will see in real photos.

I just stumbled upon it as it showed as the #1 movie last week.

Yes, the bad reviews were wrong.

I read the book and enjoyed it. I don't have Netflix now but when I finish the things on HBO that I want to see and cancel that, I have a list for Netflix things to watch. This is on it.

Saw it this week and thought it was really good. Glenn Close was amazing! I think it will win some Oscars.

I read the book and enjoyed it. I also liked the movie. Glen Close was great as Gramam. I think that's how it's spelled. I don't agree with the bad reviews. They said they didn't like how the working class was depicted.

I'm reading the book now (just started it but very good so far) and can't wait to see the movie. I think I'll finish reading it first.

My book club is going to do a zoom meeting to discuss the film in a few weeks...looking forward to it!

@Bridgegal When you do get Netflix, put "Rectify" on your list pf things to watch. Best thing I've ever seen on TV -- movies, too.

I loved the book. I started to watch the movie but couldn't get passed about 1/3. The book focuses on his success given all the challenges. The movie focuses on all the troubles and violence. If you have a choice, read the book.

@Bridgegal "Rectify" is a series. I don't remember how many seasons or episodes, but it does come to an end. If things weren't so hectic, I'd watch it again. I'm sure you can Google it to get a feeling for what it's about.
