The Office

Ok, I'm tired of everyone I know telling me that I need to see this show. It seems like everyone loves it, and there are references to it all over the internet. Anyway I just watched the pilot on Netflix, and it is funny in a way. I want to slap the boss, but I'm going to watch a few more before I make up my mind. Are there other Office lovers here, and am I really missing something great ?

I agree with @Janey2 . Not everyone likes that kind of humor, but I love this show. I've been watching it for years, same episodes over and over. It never gets old to me and I enjoy just about every character.

There's always a running inside joke, you can't just watch one or 2.

I've always seen it compared to Parks & Recreation

I didn't care for Parks & Rec at all. It was like a cheap knock off to me

I did watch the 1 st episode a couple weeks ago and Parks and recreation , i didn't love either one , but it was like Schitts Creek and i really got into it , so i will go back sometime and watch a little more , it is all about timing for each individual , what i watched 2 years ago might not interest me now.

I love both "The Office" and "Parks and Rec." I have watched all the episodes many, many times.

I love the development of the characters: none stay the same.

It took me a few episodes to get it. It's one of my favorites. My 9 year old grandson loves it too. I think I've watched the Kevin's famous chili episode a hundred times with him.

My favorite is the episode "Health Care". Spontaneous Dental Hydroplosion, ****** fissures, hot dog fingers anyone? 😜😅

I watched all the seasons of the office and parks and rec. I liked the office better but some of the seasons were not as funny. I did overall enjoy both though. It's a step away from the serious shows like "24" or Jack Ryan. I need to mix it up sometimes.

@bathina , I just watched the alliance episode, Dwight in the box was priceless.😻

Good movie. Today is hubs last, full day of work before retirement. Must return on Thursday to participate in financial incentives for 2020. I sent him a text -- if you find that red stapler - throw it in your cardboard box and bring it home. You deserve it.

I love it and still watch the reruns.

My favorite episodes are The Bat and when Michael steps on the George Foreman Grill.

@QVCkitty1 I love love love The Office!! My favorite show of all time. I watch on Netflix almost daily and some episodes I have watched so many times that I can recite the lines. The character of Michael Scott is cringe, mean, clueless but also he had many heartfelt moments. Season 2 episode "The Injury" is classic Michael Scott and probably one of my favorite episodes of the entire series.

My former boss had many similarities to Michael Scott and that could be why I found the show so funny and relatable.

Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey just started doing a podcast called "Office Ladies" where they are reviewing each episode and giving behind the scenes info. They started with the "Pilot" episode and are going in order from there. Been enjoyable to listen to so far.

I never watched it while it was on, but they show it a lot on cruises, so I started watching once I got home--it's on Comedy channel several days a week.

I love Casino Night and The Job, part 2.

I love, love, love The Office! Although, to be perfectly honest, I only watched the seasons after Michael left out of some kind of weird loyalty to the show. I did not like those seasons.

But, the last few shows before the series ended, were great again!

I hated the 'revolving door' of managers after Michael left--especially the Will Ferrell character. I did not like Robert California or Nellie either. Neither one of them added anything to the show.

@DrKelli 100% agree. Both Will Ferrell's character and Robert California were like nails on a chalkboard -- awful!
