For those of you who watched the show, Tim Norman was arder. For those of you who watched the show, Tim Norman was arrested in the murder of his teenage nephew Andre' Montgomery yesterday. How very sad and terrible, Tim took out a $450,000 life insurance policy on Andre. The FBI and local law enforcement worked together on the case.

I wouldn't say he fooled everyone. I found him to be extremely unlikeable. Many times he was rude and arrogant to his mother. I also hope he didn't do this but with the agencies that were involved in this, it's not looking good.

I know he was in some trouble and even spent time in prison, when he was a very young adult, but it sure seemed like he had gotten his life together.

I think I remember Andre. If he's the one I recall, it seemed like he was a good kid.

I read the thing this morning but I don't remember seeing what was the motive. Well, aside from the insurance policy - maybe that was all it was.

I wonder if he left the family business.

Well, that's a shame. It seemed like he had gotten it together and was a hard worker. IIRC, the NoHo store didn't last too long and I don't remember what ended up happening with Houston (I think?) that was coming after that.

This is the first I've heard of anything involving the family or the company, since the show ended. I watched the show throughout its run.

I never cared for Tim. He wanted to franchise Sweetie Pies using his mothers name and money. That's why she sued him.

Tim spent ten years in prison for armed robbery and other crimes.

This incredulous story is very disheartening!😥 I followed the show closely at one time, because I loved the-rags to- riches story of former back-up singer, and "Ikette" Miss Robbie. She has quite an impressive resume.

When I read the title of this thread, I shook my head in disbelief- until I read the news report.😞

Most disturbing, is I recall the storyline in which Andre was killed. Robbie was heartbroken, as was her nephew Charles. Tim drove her to the actual street where the murder occurred, as they reminisced. The allegations surrounding this case shake me to my core.😕

I cannot imagine Miss Robbie's sorrow, and astonishment today, and pray that God wrap his loving arms of solace and protection around her, and her family, as they begin to process this almost unbearable tragedy. I am sending SPECIAL PRAYERS to Andre's dear mother, as her anguish is most assuredly the deepest. 🙏🙏❤

Sweetie Pie’s Owner James Timothy Norman Charged In Murder-For-Hire Plot In Nephew’s Death

Sometimes “reality” can get too real.

Reality TV star and owner of St. Louis soul food restaurantSweetie Pie’s, James Timothy Norman has been charged in the 2016 murder-for-hire killing, authorities said Tuesday, of his own nephew.

Norman – the son of longtime Sweetie Pie’s owner Robbie Montgomery, who later starred in an OWN reality show Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s with her family – was charged last week in a federal complaint in the death of his 18-year-old nephew, Andre Montgomery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Missouri. Both Norman and Andre appeared on the series.

Robbie Montgomery’s relationship with her son, Norman, had gone sour throughout the years. She sued Norman in 2016, claiming his operation of three Sweetie Pie’s restaurants was a copyright infringement, which may have inadvertently led to the murder of Andre Montgomery.

Norman allegedly took out a $450,000 life insurance policy on his nephew in 2014, with him as the sole beneficiary, according to the DOJ. From there, his plan was set in motion. In March 2016, Norman got in touch with his alleged accomplice, an exotic dancer by the name of Terica Ellies of Memphis, Tennessee.

Officials say on the day prior to Andre Montgomery’s death, Norman flew to St. Louis from Los Angeles. Ellis allegedly learned where Andre Montgomery was and used a burner phone to give his location to Norman. Just after 8 p.m. on March 14 of that year, Montgomery was shot and killed in St. Louis.

Ellis later deposited more than $9,000 in cash into various bank accounts, prosecutors said. A week after the killing, Norman contacted the life insurance company in an attempt to collect on his nephew’s policy.

Terica Ellis has also been charged in the murder for hire plot.
Norman is currently being represented by a Public Defender, who hasn’t commented yet.

Now that is what I call "I am confident w/my public defender" mug shot.

I just found an actual clip of the show I was referring to online, and it brought tears to my eyes.😥 I am struggling to have compassion for Tim, but I do. It's just such a shame, because he had so much promise.

I just wonder what happened in his life, beside his 10 year prison term, that could make his heart so dark. I know prison can harden some people, but this crime suggests something much deeper.😞

Tim is arrested so think they have some evidence to cause this. Who takes a $450,000 ins policy out on a 18yr old nephew? This doesn't look good for Tim. Tim kept trying to open up resturants in different states so Miss Robbie had to stop him. I don't think some of these resturants ever opened up. Waste of Miss Robbie's money. Miss Robbie had a hard life, lost a son, think due to violence and now this. I watched that show every season. Miss Robbie gave jobs to so many family members, nice lady. I can't even imagine how this family can deal or recover from this. Greed has no limits.

The amount of that insurance policy should have raised some red flags. Why would an uncle take out an almost half a million dollar policy on a young man who basically had nothing? It wasn't like he was a business owner or even a man with a family whose death would have created a financial deficit for them.

I think you nailed it. I'm not a crime show junkie, I know many of you watch the crime shows and have seen the worse of the worse. I guess except for a crime against a child, this is the most heinous, chilling, tragic story I've seen.

There's a term for Tim, it's called "bad seed"

There's 2 entities you don't screw around with, one is the Post Office, the other is an insurance company. The Feds have nothing but time on their hands. The fact this happened in 2016 tells me their investigation is meticulous and will be hard for him to beat. plus he has nothing to negotiate with.

@SandySparkles: You're a better woman than I. I just can't muster up any compassion, whatsoever, for Tim if he did set up his nephew to be murdered. Truly awful!
