International Dancer/Actress/Singer 'Zizi' Jeanmaire Dies at 96

I opted to announce her passing here instead of "Community Chat" because she is likely known to very few on this board. Even for me she was considered vintage when I learned of her in the 1950s. You know, just like ZaSu Pitts and Maria Ouspenskaya. They were old-timers but still productive when I was coming up.

Zizi Jeanmaire

I have no clear recollection of when she became someone whose name I recognized, but I suspect I first learned of her when she appeared in the movie Hans Christian Andersen that starred Danny Kaye.

May she rest in peace.

I am not familiar with her, but she is a beautiful woman...really timeless looks.

I'll have to read about her. Hope she is dancing in heaven!

I remember her from the Hans Christian Andersen movie, also. She was so lovely, and a beautiful dancer.
