TO COMCAST/ INFINITY Cable SUBSCRIBERS ONLY

my new bill shows a $10 jump in price this month.... Did yours go up?

It has been $159....for quite awhile....now this new billing shows $169. Nothing has changed... it just keeps going up up up. I just have the basic cable...nothing fancy.

I will not play the "call each month game" to get a lower price....and will not drop my cable as I like what I get and it is very predictable and never goes off... great channel selection. So! I should not complain I know!

Actually all my bills have jumped in price.....my home insurance....car insurance...medical insurance....home taxes.......etc. everything just keeps going up.

Thankfully I live a pretty prudent lifestyle....so I can afford it.

@SeaMaiden Yes mine went up also about the same amount. It makes me angry that I sign a two year contract that says I will stay with them but they don't have to keep their price the same. I looked at the statement and didn't see where the difference was so it must be hidden somewhere.

@grandma2pkmh They do not announce where the increase is...it just shows up. Really hard to figure out....

Yes. Our bill went up too. We have the digital preferred package and our internet with Comcast/xfinity. Went from 173 to 204!!! With NO additions or upgrades...😤😤😤

We have a 2 year contract with Comcast cable and internet. The amount has always been the same for the 2 years

Yes, mine went up $10.00 also. I pay $240.15 a month, have TV, computer and phones on it. We have no choice as it's the only service we have here. No one I know likes Comcast. I live 25 minutes from Pittsburgh, Pa. and people tell me there's are cheaper. My phone lays on the floor all the time, as I have a cell phone, but I live alone and afraid to give up my land line. When they get rid of the robo calls I'll hang it up. 6 and 7 a day, and it's Steve from Arizona, who can barely speak English telling me I have a bad back.

If you have a two year contract with a price guarantee and your bill has gone up, look very carefully at the taxes and fees portion of your bill. That is where the increase often shows up when your service price is guaranteed not to go up. Comcast cannot control whether taxes or licensing fees go up, and so those are exempt from the price guarantee. It is annoying, but nothing can be done about it at the moment.

Here's a gift many of us weren't hoping for in early 2020: price hikes on TV service from some of the biggest cable and satellite TV companies.

Just before the new year, Comcast and DirecTV announced they'll be raising prices.

As with past price hikes, the TV companies blame the rising cost of programming for the increases.

"Rising programming costs—most notably for broadcast TV and sports—continue to be the biggest factors driving price increases for all content distributors and their customers, "Comcast said in a statement. "While we absorb some of the increased programming costs, they have a significant impact on the cost of our services."

Comcast customers got hit with higher advertised prices for TV service and higher add-on fees. The price for a basic TV package increased from $30 to $35 per month. The fee for broadcast TV is now 50 percent percent higher, going from $10 to $15 per month.

The company also increased its charge for internet service by up to $3 per month, which pales in comparison to the cost of a returned payment, which jumped from $10 to $30.

If you're considering a streaming alternative to a traditional pay-TV package, remember that all of those services have also instituted price hikes—sometimes several times—over the past year. And some now provide fewer channels and networks than when they launched.

Yep, my bill went from $200.44 to $210.44 this month for bundled phone, Internet, and cable. I have one television, so I have only a single cable box. I have no special features or extra channels. (I am in PA if that matters. My mom and sister have also had $10 a month rate hikes.)

@SeaMaiden Yes. Mine went up a little over 10 bucks. I compared my line item bills for last month and this month. There were several increases to line items like broadcast access fee, DVR box and a couple of other things. And the tax amount increased too. All small charges adding up to over 10.

The cost of my package, triple play, did NOT go up.

These increases bite.

I have DirecTV and our bill has gone up over $30 in the past year with unspecified increases.

However, the latest one was $10 for "regional sports fee"? That was this month. Sports fee???? Do I watch regional sports? No. I know I'm going to have to call them, as $165 a month just for TV (we have separate internet and phone) is a ridiculous amount, but we're hamstrung by no other real competition and I don't want to go to just an antenna.

What bothers me most, other than the outrageous cost, is all the offers for new subscribers. It's galling to see them advertise "$29 a month, no rental fees ever..." We're paying $20 a month just for the rental of two Genie units. We've been with them for 19 years and could've bought the things dozens of times over.

Best revenge- Head to a big box and buy them, save the cost. It will save you monthy and they pay for themselves in about a years time.

You say they sell these in store? Is Comcast OK with that? Are they hard to set up? Normally with the Comcast boxes you have to call Comcast and get them configured to work with your TV. How do these boxes you buy get configured?

@SeaMaiden I have the landline with AT&T, they messed up so much with cable so went to comcast. It was less expensive to stay with AT&T for the phone, $36 per month, than to go with comcast, at the time.

Xfinity customer service will give you the exact specifications (model type ) for the boxes and router and you can get them at Best Buy.
