This is Paddington Bear?

As a long time lover of children's literature, I just can't seem to get my head around the way they are representing the character of Paddington bear in the new movie, which opens soon. Paddington should be round, pudgy, and slightly befuddled. This Paddington seems slimmed way down and a little scary. More real bear than teddy bear. What do you think? It seems the loveability and cuteness factor has been lost. Some of the antics in the trailer seem downright scary. Not a cuddly bear anymore!

I don't usually see movies like this. However, I've heard that it is a nice movie. I heard interviews with the guy who's voice is the bear. I do like the sound of the bear's voice.

It's rated PG, so I doubt that it's scary. It's made for young children.

I agree with the OP: Paddington Bear is way more naïve than this new movie version is pushing. And I hate his voice.

I thought the same thing when I saw the previews! What's next Winnie the pooh joining Jenny Craig?

The reviews are in, and the movie is kind of a dud. Should have stuck with the original cute bear!
