Doctor Who Christmas Special (spoilers)

I didn't understand a lot of it (thank you, internet, for explaining the things that sailed over my head, since I hadn't seen any of the Alien sequels, or Inception).

Santa was awesome. Nick Frost was flawless bringing Moffatt's clever lines to life.

We're left still confused about Danny, because shouldn't Clara have a wee little bump already? We saw Orson Pink. We know he's real.

I did not know, and maybe you didn't either, that one of the elves -- the older one -- was played by the actor who plays Strax. So thank you, internet, for that too.

I totally did not understand the ending. From what I read many said it was all Shona's dream, and I rewatched and that last scene with her in her dreary apartment and the list of DVDs -- was that your takeaway?

Whatever it was, for me Shona stood out and was IMO outstanding, and I hope she is the next companion.

Did not read your post . Last year we were in Ireland for Christmas and got to watch the special there which was a real treat. This year we're behind watching the series and have 4 episodes left before we can watch the Christmas episode but will do before New Years.

The BBC is having a 5 day marathon if Dr Who. Its marvelous. The Christmas special is something I will have to see a couple more times before I catch everything or at least most everything.
