Summary for Monday, July 1st from soaps.com:

At Dark Horse, Nick asks Chelsea why she’d come there. Adam thinks she came for him. Chelsea’s tired of running. Adam wants Nick to get out, but he won’t. Chelsea stares at Adam and tells Nick she has to talk to Adam alone. Nick exits, and Adam strokes Chelsea hair and kisses her – he’d almost given up hope. He takes her hand and says, “Let’s go home.”

At Society, Kevin tries to duck out when he spots Phyllis, but she calls him over to help with a computer issue. He sits beside her and she reveals Adam put her in charge of Dark Horse. As he leans over the laptop, she smells his cologne, grabs him by the collar, and hisses, “You sonofabitch! It was you!” As Kevin protests, she rants that he locked her up in a basement and demands to know the real reason he’s back in Genoa City. Kevin maintains half the men in town wear that cologne. Phyllis warns this isn’t over. He leaves as Nick arrives. Phyllis asks what he wants to blame on her now. He reveals Chelsea’s back and she’s with Adam. Phyllis thinks it was only a matter of time. Nick grumps about Phyllis running Chelsea out of town; they’d probably be married by now. Phyllis didn’t want to hurt him with the truth about Christian’s paternity and Chelsea used that against her – she stole and lied. Why is he so quick to defend her? Phyllis recaps that Adam is back, and he is Christian’s father and the love of Chelsea’s life. Nick notes there was also a time he thought they would end up together. Phyllis acknowledges she’s now the devil and warns him to take off his blinders where Chelsea’s concerned. He admits he has things to say to her.

Ana arrives at the penthouse to find Elena puzzling over a box of Hilary’s things. Ana says she and Nate spoke to Devon about his panic attack and he decided to move her things. Elena worries it was too soon. Devon enters. He talks about an episode of GC Buzz where Hilary ad-libbed the whole show. Elena and Ana listen as he tells the story of Hilary helping a girl feel better about being body-shamed, relating it to her own experiences as a girl. The women are impressed. Devon places the DVD in the box and thanks them for helping him get to this point. He flashes to Hilary’s first day on set, then tells Ana and Elena about giving Hilary her prom and about Hilary helping Shauna. They have a group hug. Later, Devon thanks Elena for helping him take the donations to the church – she’s brought him out of the dark. They kiss.

Chelsea and Adam arrive at his penthouse. He wants to make this place a home again, and asks about Connor. Chelsea updates him on the boy, who’s at sleepaway camp. Adam wants to go get him, but Chelsea says, “Stop. That’s not why I came back.” He asks, “Why then?” Chelsea wants him to let her go – it’s been three years. Adam knows she has entanglements to deal with. Chelsea can’t throw everything away – their forever ended when he died. Chelsea explains she was in survival mode for a long time. Adam still wants their happy ending. Chelsea doesn’t want to go back. Adam asks if she loves her husband. Chelsea doesn’t owe him an answer. Adam deserves to know – Calvin is raising his son. Chelsea feels if Adam loves Connor, he’ll leave him in a stable situation. Adam wants to be with her. She begs him to put Connor first. Adam doesn’t want him living a lie…like he did. He predicts when Connor finds out the truth, he’ll blame Chelsea – when Hope told him about Victor, he felt betrayed. Chelsea vows Connor will never know he’s a Newman. Adam warns there’s nothing he won’t do to reclaim his son. Talk turns to her romance with Nick. Adam feels his brother knows she loves Adam without fear or judgement. Chelsea says that was true, but not anymore. She walks out, leaving Adam shaken.

Mariah spots Kevin at Crimson Lights and teases him about not telling her he was in town. Kevin complains about messing up his life. She offers to fix his problems and reveals she’s running Power Communications. Kevin’s so proud. Kevin reveals he’s ****** off powerful people – it’s better she doesn’t know who. Mariah doles out some advice about Kevin taking charge of the narrative.

Coming up on Young and Restless this week…

Summer pushes her luck.

After asking Kevin for help with a computer issue, Phyllis smells his cologne and realizes he’s the person who kidnapped her and held her captive. She grabs Kevin by the collar and hisses, “You sonofabitch it was you!” Kevin is unable to fool Phyllis, who backs him into a corner and demands he confess. She also wants to know the real reason he’s in Genoa City, so he has to cover.

After assuring a protective Nick that she will be fine alone with Adam, Chelsea returns to the penthouse with her former husband and tells him all about Connor. She then informs Adam that she came back to tell him to let her go. Adam receives an ultimatum from Chelsea.

Abby says she got a message, she thinks it’s about her dad’s health, and asks Nikki, “It’s bad news, isn’t it?”

Victor makes a risky move.

Victoria targets Dark Horse.

Young and Restless spoilers for the week of July 8 – 12

Yes me too! so over this show. Taking a break, can not stand the Adam character, too mean and creepy. Then there is Michelle, didn't like her as Phyllis ever, now she is back, and in my opinion does not fit the role nor does it justice. Gina T. was the best Phyllis!! Was sorry to see her go.

Will need to record Y&R and Bold and the Beautiful.

Hubby is home and we are usually busy, so, no time to watch live.

@GAC65 They had every opportunity upon bringing Adam back to craft a less extreme narrative but they chose to push it to the limit by having everyone pretty much ganging up on him and hating him from the get-go and him reacting by reverting to type... Who can blame him...

As for this Phyllis, I can only say that now that they have her back, it should be glaring to them and anybody watching just what an error it was to assume Stafford would return and all would be as it was, you know, half a decade ago... So many opportunities and each and every one of them so badly wasted...

I endured the Chuck Pratt years... then the short Sally Sussman era... and then the Mal years that felt like forever... Now this... Not sure I want to endure any more... Simply bringing back characters from days gone by does not ensure an 'iconic' show, much less one worth watching... I feel like I'm watching Y&R from ten years ago only nothing has really changed and nothing has really moved forward... We've got psycho Chloe and jack-hole Billy still pizz moaning about Delia and bent on violent revenge... We've got Phyllis with her Morticia Adams hair still flitting around and being snarky, but with little substance otherwise... We've got Chelsea still with the deer in the headlights school of acting... We've got Victor at death's doorstep, just as he was again about a year ago when JT pushed him down the stairs... We've got indignant Nick still fighting over 'his' children, while Faith apparently goes MIA... We've got Miss Vicky still salivating over the prospect of being a CEO... We've got Sharon still navigating from man to man... We've got a new Adam, but he alone can't make this show watchable... And we've still got the Devon contingent, now to include Tessa and Nate, adding absolutely nothing to the procedings... Add in the only actually current story line involving Kyle and Lola and you still got abso-freaking-lutely nothing... Zilch... Zero... Zip...

Why I have a Tivo best 20 a month I spend

Nothing to miss, though. Show is so stupid I just watch because that's the time I eat lunch and don't want to watch game shows or news. LOL

About this whole Delia thing... Adam is clearly beyond remorseful... Devastating, yes, but what more can he do or say... Meanwhile, Chloe and Billy are just bat guano nuts... Any loving parent would be crushed, but most sane people would find a way to move on... They wouldn't be attempting murder at every opportunity or contemplating it... This has gone on long enough... Too long... They need to move it along... And I still remain unconvinced that Adam was the culprit... They've never really proven he was, it's just always been assumed... Regardless, I'm tired of hearing about it... Frankly, it's ridiculous... This has now been going on since 2013...

So far, the short list is that Chloe has lied about the kid's parentage, has tried to kill Adam twice, has abducted Connor and taken him to Paris because he has Delia's eyes... and Billy has abducted Adam and nearly killed him... I'd say they've milked this nonsense for all it's worth... As far as I'm concerned, both of them should be at Fairview in a long-term locked ward under heavy sedation, or in the Big House...

She blew up the cabin with him knocked out and I think tied up

Recently , she tried to shoot him.

She's not very good at murder.

Why not... Sure... A carnival... The show's become a veritable circus so they might as well add a carnival to the mix... I see Numbnutz is hauling Christian around again... Shaking my head... @stevieb I had forgotten about Chloe kidnapping Connor. She's done so many things in the name of Delia that it's hard to remember them all.

Certainly she's entitled to feel sorrow for the loss of her daughter but she doesn't have the right to go on a vengeful murdering spree.

Like you said, most sane people find a way to contain their grief and then move on past it. She was blessed with having another daughter and she needs to put her focus on raising Bella.

It really irritated me in Friday's episode when Billy was telling her how she didn't deserve all of the tragedy that she experienced. Does he think that Adam deserved to be shot several times and have his entire life destroyed? Billy is continuing to feed her sick obsession with getting even.

If he truly cared for her he would be encouraging her to remember Delia in her heart but move on and be a complete and mentally healthy mother to Bella.

True enough @J Town Girl but in his own way, Billy's just as dysfunctional as is she... His emotional growth appears to have been stunted somewhere around what most people experience at the age of seventeen... Both of them are pieces of work who are choosing not to see the whole picture... Their loss, (years ago, I would note), is all that matters... From where I sit, despite their loss, neither of them are sympathetic characters...

@stevieb I thought your last sentence was so true and described both of these characters to a "T". They had an unimaginable loss and yet it's very difficult to sympathize with either of them....curious, isn't it?

Normally, it would make my heart ache, such a terrible thing to happen, but with those two....well maybe it's what's written for them...I don't know...Your post was one of the best I've read as far as those two characters....

Since they have the ability to bring back the dead they need to bring Delia back to life. I hated that storyline. That was the cruelest along with killing off Cassie. No children should be hurt or killed on TV there is enough of that in real life.
