@MarnieRez3 Thanks. Mom never got to see the final season but we loved watching DA together and it is so comforting to post with people that love it like we do.❤️😀👍

@MarnieRez3 Thank you for sharing these pics! I enjoyed all the characters, but particularly Maggie Smith...she was sometimes so wickedly funny! I can hardly wait for the picture.

Incidentally, if anyone liked "Mr. Bates", he appears in Lark Rise to Candleford on Amazon Prime. I believe he left this show for Downton Abbey.

What great news! I watched Downton religiously and even went to the exhibit when it was in NYC. I haven’t been to a movie theater in ages but I will be showing up for this film.

Funny that we all loved Violet so much...Maggie Smith just said and did whatever she wanted and the family had to respect her.
Hope these photos make your back feel better! I loved Mr. Bates...I will look for "Lark Rise in Candleford." I think it is also on PBS.
@Vivian Florimond Yes, we haven't been to a theater in ages either, but there's something about these images that make me want to see it on the big screen.
I am so jealous you got to see the exhibit in New York! Did you see costumes and jewelry from the show??

I've only been to the movies once last year, to see Halloween, and I was reminded why I stopped by the light from rude people's cell phones and the loud crunching. I will glady suffer both for Downton Abbey.

Love Mr. Bates; my favorite of all the characters.

I watched Lark Rise to Candleford a couple of years ago and loved it. Linda Bassett (of Call the Midwife) is also in this series.

I am happy that there will be a movie but I fear that a stand alone movie can't live up to the the tv series.

As much as I want to see this movie, DH and I had not stepped foot in a movie theater in years. When GS was small we started to go again to take him to the age appropriate moves for him.; but we have stopped going again now that he is grown.

We will have to wait for it to show up on Netflix (assume that's where it will be).

I actually would have preferred a new series instead of a movie; I don't know how much they can fit in and end with storylines sewn up.
