10:25 a.m. Eastern, Fox Movie Channel-- "Let's Make it Legal" Claudette Colbert, Macdonald Carey, Zachary Scott, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Wagner

TCM is mostly Westerns and road movies tomorrow, so checked FMC, and found this. Disclaimer: I haven't seen it, and don't really care all that much for frivolous marital comedies, ha.

BUT, Claudette Colbert is so winning in comedy, I simply adore her, her style, and any movie I can find of her. In this, she decides to divorce hubby (cutie Macdonald Carey) because of his compulsive gambling, and of course all kinds of comic situations ensue... Another promising performer, my fave Zachary Scott, helps with the triangulation too..

This might also be interesting for the presence of attractive "newcomers" (they were newcomers in the Fifties) Marilyn Monroe and Robert Wagner. So might very well be worth a look.... But if not, the midcentury sets, clothes and ambiance could be beguiling...

Speaking of Westerns, Gunfight at the OK Corral - 1957 (tomorrow, Saturday 2/16, 5.45 EST on TCM) was the ultimate movie for me when I was a little kid.

Now, not so much.

On the other hand, it does have Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, and Rhonda Fleming. Even DeForest Kelley!

And it did have that music from Dimitri Tiomkin, with the theme song sung by Frankie Lane (who sounds kind of like Earl Holliman, who is in the movie as well).

"Duty calls, my back's against the wall."

Does that brings back memories?

Earl Holliman happens to be in the movie and as I was listening to the song, it sounded just like EH to me. I had to watch all the credits to find out who it really was.
