@QVCkitty1 That's WONDERFUL NEWS. Thanks so much for posting. She is the ONE truly bright spot on that network now and they should have her on a little more often. Love Ina and her recipes.

I find her shows very relaxing. She has a soothing voice and prepares food that I could probably make at home (if I were so inclined...which I am not). Her get-togethers with friends is enough of an escape from the news that is so depressing.

I would not make her recipes, but for those who enjoy her I thought I would mention that I've seen her cookbooks at Costco.

I am not wealthy so am unable to live her lifestyle. I don't have shops selling fresh seafood and flowers in my neighborhood either. I also do not have a gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances to do my cooking and baking in. For everyone who is able to do and enjoy those things, you are indeed fortunate and very blessed. She truly loves what she does.

I normally strongly dislike cooking shows and never watch them. There is, however, something about Ina's manner and the way she explains things that always fascinates me, so I enjoy watching her. Glad to hear we'll see more of her.

@RetRN- Ina doesn't always use expensive ingredients in her recipes. She prepares a whole roasted chicken that is so delicious that uses regular ingredients, mostly that you'd have in your home. I don't usually have fresh thyme in the house but that's really not a big deal to buy in the supermarket. Check it out:

Ina Garten’s Perfect Roast Chicken

Ingredients

1 (5 to 6 pound) roasting chicken
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 large bunch fresh thyme, plus 20 sprigs
1 lemon, halved
1 head garlic, cut in half crosswise
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter, melted
1 large yellow onion, thickly sliced
4 carrots cut into 2-inch chunks
1 bulb of fennel, tops removed, and cut into wedges
Olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Remove the chicken giblets. Rinse the chicken inside and out. Remove any excess fat and leftover pin feathers and pat the outside dry. Liberally salt and pepper the inside of the chicken. Stuff the cavity with the bunch of thyme, both halves of lemon, and all the garlic. Brush the outside of the chicken with the butter and sprinkle again with salt and pepper. Tie the legs together with kitchen string and tuck the wing tips under the body of the chicken. Place the onions, carrots, and fennel in a roasting pan. Toss with salt, pepper, 20 sprigs of thyme, and olive oil. Spread around the bottom of the roasting pan and place the chicken on top.
Roast the chicken for 1 1/2 hours, or until the juices run clear when you cut between a leg and thigh. Remove the chicken and vegetables to a platter and cover with aluminum foil for about 20 minutes. Slice the chicken onto a platter and serve it with the vegetables.

@RetRN. Well, I am not wealthy either, but I do live on the coast and have access to fresh seafood. Also, our florist in town sells fresh flowers.
I don't need an expensive appliance. A stove is a stove after all and my oven bakes just like Ina's does. Yes, I am fortunate and blessed. Ask my husband LOL.

It's funny that you mention that.

When I look at the type & shape of clothing sold here and people always requesting larger sizes - 2x & 3x - I would imagine more women here look like Ina that don't.

I have followed Ina for many years and have enjoyed using her recipes. Her confidence and kindness is something that I admire.
Someone with those traits has no need to put others down.

I also find her a delight - she explains things simply without fanfare and her cleavage does not talk - imagine that.

I most often used recipes from America's Test Kitchen and Ina G.

I like Ina and also Martha Stewart. There's something about their voices that are soothing and down to earth. Like watching them.

I like when Ina brings Jeffrey into the mix. You can tell they are highly educated and wealthy, but they don't flaunt it. That's class.

No one is asking you to live her lifestyle. You don't have to be wealthy to cook/bake as Ina does. You can get the ingredients to the majority of her recipes at your local grocery store. And as has been said in a previous post, a stove is a stove. smh

I really enjoy her show. She is so calm and her garden is absolutely gorgeous. Love the relationship between her and Jeffrey. I remember her doing a big dinner for the fire fighters. She seems really sweet.
