Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool

For those of you that enjoyed the Corden McCartney encounter on The Late Late Show, CBS is airing an expanded edition with previously unseen footage on Monday August 20 at 8:00. I can't wait to see more!

I loved it, just as I loved the original show. MACCA has to be one of the coolest people on earth! (Well, I've known that since I was 11 yrs. old of course). He's so quick-witted too.

I wish Corden hadn't interrupted Sir Paul so much, when Paul was answering one of Corden's questions. Corden kept cutting him off -arrrgh.

I actually thought Paul surprising the people at the bar was more effective in the first show, although not nearly as much was shown. I gasped in surprise too, when, in the first show, near the end of the show actually (rather than at the very beginning) Corden was serving up drinks in that Liverpool bar when the woman put money in the jukebox (which contained all Beatles songs), chose A Hard Days Night thinking it would come on the jukebox, and the curtain parts and Paul starts playing it. Can you imagine!? I just thought the way that was shown in the first show was more effective, rather than having all those segments cutting back to it. It was the shock element that came across so clearly in the first show. That's a small quibble though. I loved seeing all the added footage, including more at Paul's old home on Forthin Road. And I really loved seeing him posing in front of "himself" in the Beatles statue. That really made me want to go to Liverpool and go on the Beatles tour and see that statue and all their old homes.

I also loved when Corden asked Paul what he thought about being back in his old home and Paul responded about just how long the journey has been - and talked about how his life used to be in that house and around Liverpool, not knowing about what was to happen with the Beatles (and of course that he'd be one of the richest people in England). I love this show! I hope it comes out in a DVD - I want it to watch over and over again!

Paul seems so down to earth (after all he is a Sir), likes to meet the people, is a really good sport, just an all around good guy. He could be so full of himself, being a Beatle, it's nice to know someone you grew up adoring is worthy of your adoration.

@Jordan2 I don't know whether you've ever seen him live, but he seems to live to perform. He just loves it. So yes, he loves people and I really think he loves being famous, which doesn't seem to have gone to his head.

I remember in one of the many Beatles biographies I've read, one thing I remember is the author said Paul took manager Brian Epstein aside, very, very early on when Epstein just started to represent the Beatles, and Paul told him that even if the group doesn't work out, he'd like Epstein to manage him because he wanted to be famous one day. And he certainly got his wish!

When he was at his childhood home and they were in the back yard and he was talking about how he used to shimmy up the drain pipe, you could tell he really wanted to try it again. He was really considering it seriously.

I think he enjoyed being back there.

Loved this! He seems SO down to earth. I loved the tour bus people freaking out when they saw him next to his statue!! So great!
